Aaron knew exactly what kind of man Evan was.
If he refused to see him today, Evan probably wouldn’t leave easily.
Gray left.
Not long afterward, Evan was brought in.
The hostility radiating from him was no weaker than Aaron’s.
Both men were furious.
A fight could erupt at any second.
Evan walked straight over, pulled out the chair across from Aaron with a harsh scrape, and sat down.
Aaron held a cigar between his fingers and looked at him coldly.
“Let Yara leave first,” Evan said.
Let Yara leave first.
He only wanted her out of here.
As for himself...
“I don’t want her dragged any further into this.”
His voice was icy.
Evan was a man too.
There was no way he couldn’t see what Aaron felt toward Yara.
Aaron gave a cold laugh.
“Dragged into this?”
Was that really what this was?
Yara was already part of this. There was no question of dragging her into it.
“What right do you have to keep her here?” Evan demanded through clenched teeth.
This bastard.
Aaron had already turned on the Clyde family yesterday.
That meant he had clearly investigated everything and learned the truth.
And yet he was still keeping Yara here.
Aaron took a slow drag from his cigar.
“Don’t you think talking to me about what I have the right to do is a little pointless?”
Evan’s already dark expression turned even colder.
“What exactly do you mean by that?”
Was Aaron seriously refusing to reason with him?
Aaron looked at him.
“What part didn’t you understand?”
His voice was flat and absolute.
“She’s mine.”
That was how Aaron thought.
Right and wrong only mattered when he chose to care about them.
If he didn’t, then those so-called rules meant nothing to him.
