Chapter 1238
No right at all.
As far as Felix was concerned, Evan didn’t even have the right to hate Stella.
Everything had started long before the misunderstanding over her mother’s death.
That misunderstanding had only made Stella even more ruthless toward the Wright family.
But now Evan was conveniently ignoring everything that had happened before it.
“And you still want her to pay?” Felix let out a cold laugh. “If anyone should pay, it’s you, Evan.”
Evan froze.
Felix’s words seemed to explode inside his head.
For a moment, it felt as though something in his entire world had collapsed.
He stared at Felix, his face growing darker.
His eyes became increasingly conflicted.
“You’re saying…”
“Yes,” Felix said. “I’m saying no one else is the reason the Wright family ended up like this. You are.”
Evan said nothing.
“Why do you think Stella became so ruthless toward your family? You really don’t know?”
It wasn’t only because of what she believed about her mother.
She had already started fighting back against the Wright family long before that.
She had hated them to the core.
Evan drew a strained breath and looked at Felix.
Felix continued,
“You’re always like this. Whenever something goes wrong, the people closest to you are always the first ones to suffer.”
As for the role Evan himself had played in pushing everything to this point?
He never stopped to think about it.
Felix left.
Evan remained sitting where he was.
A long time passed.

Even after darkness fell outside, he was still sitting in the exact same position he had been in when Felix walked
out.
Had he really caused all of this?
Had everything ended up like this because of him?
Then what about Stella?
After everything she had done to the Wright family, was she supposed to face no consequences at all?
By the time Lucas arrived at Wright Corporation after Evan’s call, the smell of alcohol hit him the moment he stepped into the office.
The lights were off, leaving the entire room dim.
Lucas reached over and switched them on.
Several empty bottles were scattered around Evan’s feet.
Evan was sitting on the carpet with his back against the cold wall.
The entire office reeked of alcohol.
Clearly, he had already drunk quite a bit before Lucas arrived.
Lucas sighed and walked over, sitting down beside him.
“You saw Felix?”
Lucas had already heard that Felix was back.
He had tried calling him, but Felix hadn’t answered.
After all, Felix had returned this time because of Evan.
With everything already such a mess, Felix probably had no patience left to deal with anyone else.
So when Lucas called, Felix simply ignored him.
Evan lifted the bottle and took another drink.
“Did I cause all of this?”
His voice was thick with alcohol.
Lucas paused.
For a moment, he didn’t know how to answer.
Something this serious obviously hadn’t been caused by Evan alone.
But right now, if Lucas told him everyone had been wrong and everyone shared responsibility…

With Evan’s temper, there was no telling how many more people he might drag into this mess.
“Stop drinking.”
When Evan raised the bottle again, Lucas instinctively reached for it.
