Chapter 1253

In the end, Michael’s people managed to get Stella out before Aaron’s men reached them.

Remi stayed by her side the entire time.

On the plane, Stella looked at her.

“Once we get to Eirden, we should go our separate ways.

Remi’s brows twitched.

“Not until I make sure your father isn’t just another version of your brother.”

Stella’s chest tightened.

“You…”

“I may not be confident I can take you away from these people, but…”

Remi trailed off.

Then she looked at Stella and sighed.

“You know, you were born with every advantage imaginable. How did your life still manage to turn into such a complete disaster?”

Stella burst out laughing.

“Right? I really am cursed.”

“Seriously. It’s like heaven picked you personally to torment. I have no idea what kind of terrible things you did in your past life.”

Stella fell silent.

At this point, even she was starting to wonder if she had committed some unforgivable crime in a past life.

Remi wasn’t wrong.

She had been born with everything going for her, yet somehow her entire life had still blown up spectacularly.

Her family relationships had been one disaster after another.

And her love life?

That had exploded even worse.

“Maybe I did,” Stella said. “Maybe I burned down heaven’s headquarters in my last life.”

“Entirely possible.”

Otherwise, why would fate keep putting her through this much?

They arrived in Eirden.

Stella tried to convince Remi to leave, but Remi insisted on staying with her.

As they walked through the airport, David led the way with several men following behind them.

Stella glanced at Remi.

“Actually, I don’t trust you either.”

Remi looked at her.

“I know. You don’t trust anyone anymore.”

“Then are you here for some other reason too?”

Remi fell silent.

Stella had truly been hurt to the point of paranoia.

At this point, Remi half suspected she saw everyone around her as a potential threat.

“If I tell you I’m not, you won’t believe me anyway,” Remi said. “So just assume I came to Eirden to kill Aaron.”

Stella rolled her eyes.

Remi raised a brow.

“What? You planning to protect him?”

Stella said nothing.

Protect Aaron?

Absolutely not.

As far as she was concerned, a few more of those bastards could drop dead and she wouldn’t care.

If they all disappeared, maybe her world would finally be peaceful.

A small laugh escaped her.

“I’m not worried about him. I’m worried you’ll get yourself killed.”

Remi went quiet.

Stella continued,

“You didn’t exactly walk away unscathed the last time you went up against his people. And how’s Seymour now?”

“He recovered ages ago.

That last confrontation had left both Remi and Seymour badly injured.

Aaron really was ruthless.

And his people were just as difficult to deal with.

So Stella had a point.
