Chapter 1256

Dumping guilt on her?

Yes.

Especially after Aaron started compensating the Wright family.

Wasn’t that just another way of making Stella feel guilty?

Everyone, in one way or another, kept telling her that what she had done to the Wright family had been wrong.

But they all seemed to have forgotten one thing.

Stella had never started fighting back against the Wright family because of what she believed about her mother.

They had driven her to the edge first.

Long before that grudge ever entered the picture, they had already pushed her past her breaking point.

At Inkwood Manor, Summer’s mother had nearly killed her.

Her child hadn’t survived. 1

Those were the things that had made Stella finally turn against the Wright family.

Evan started,

“You…”

“You’re acting like you’re forgiving me?” Stella cut in coldly. “Evan, who do you think you are?”

Evan went silent.

Before he could say another word, Stella hung up.

Forgive her?

No.

She didn’t need his forgiveness.

Because when all of this had first begun, she hadn’t been the one in the wrong.

Evan had.

Stella stared at the phone.

“Everyone in the Wright family makes me sick.”

It was as though something had suddenly clicked into place.

Too much had happened recently.

Everything had become so chaotic that right and wrong had blurred together in her mind.

And with Felix constantly around her, she had never had the peace to sort any of it out.

But ever since Felix returned to Harbor City, Stella had slowly begun to calm down.

She had started going back over everything that had happened.

And little by little, she had begun untangling the mess.

Right and wrong had stopped mattering to all of them a long time ago.

But if the Wright family thought they could now dump all that hatred and blame onto her, they were dead wrong.

Even without what happened to her mother, Stella still would have turned both the Wright family and the Xander family upside down.

On the other end of the call, Evan stared at his phone.

Stella’s final words echoed in his head.

His grip tightened until his knuckles turned white.

Zane came up behind him.

“Sir, we should be able to enter Eirden tomorrow.”

“Make it faster.”

Evan ground out the words.

They made her sick.

A bitter laugh almost escaped him.

Even now, she could still say something like that.

And she was saying he had no right to forgive her?

Zane hesitated.

“We only just managed to shake off Mr. Hogarth’s people. They’ve probably already guessed that you’re trying to get into Eirden.”

Getting into Eirden was difficult enough under the circumstances.

Some parts of their plan simply couldn’t be rushed.

Evan closed his eyes, his jaw clenched so tightly his teeth nearly ground together.

“Have our people in Eirden keep eyes on Yara around the clock for the next two days.”

He understood Stella’s meaning now.

From what she had just said on the phone, she had absolutely no intention of going easy on Yara.

Stella had always been cold when she wanted to be.

He still didn’t know why she had sounded so drained and lifeless during their earlier calls.

But just now…

She had sounded like the Stella from Harbor City again.
