Chapter 1288
Stella clearly didn’t want to see anyone right now.
Aaron’s expression darkened even further.
“Move.”
He forced the word through clenched teeth, his patience completely gone.
The atmosphere outside the elevator instantly turned tense.
David and Russ both grew cold as well.
They had served Michael for many years.
Everything they did was on Michael’s orders.
And judging by their attitude now, Michael had clearly instructed them not to let Aaron through.
If Michael had decided Aaron wouldn’t be seeing anyone tonight, then with David and Russ standing there, Aaron wasn’t going to get anywhere near either Michael or Stella.
Seeing Aaron become more forceful, David’s expression turned even more serious.
“Mr. Hogarth, your father is already deeply disappointed in you.”
David had watched Aaron grow up.
He didn’t want to see him keep doing things that would disappoint Michael even more.
Aaron’s face turned completely black.
“I said move.”
This time, every word came through clenched teeth.
His hands curled into fists.
But David and Russ didn’t budge.
Instead, the aura around them turned equally cold.
Aaron finally snapped.
He reached for the gun at his waist and aimed it directly at David’s forehead.
The air seemed to freeze.
A sharp glint flashed through David’s eyes.
Russ’s gaze turned icy as well.
Neither man moved.
They simply stared at Aaron.

David, especially, could hardly believe Aaron had actually pulled a gun on him.
As he looked into Aaron’s cold eyes, deep disappointment appeared in his own.
“Uncle David,” Aaron said, “have to see Stella tonight.”
David remained unmoved.
“I’m sorry.”
Neither man was willing to back down.
Aaron’s grip tightened around the gun.
For a moment, it looked as though he might actually pull the trigger.
David stared straight at him.
“Are you really going to kill me for Ms. Wright?”
Aaron’s jaw tightened.
Russ said nothing.
David, however, showed no fear at all.
Aaron’s voice dropped.
“You think I won’t?”
“No,” David replied. “There’s nothing you wouldn’t dare do.”
Over the years, Aaron had done plenty of outrageous things in Eirden.
But pointing a gun at one of his father’s oldest and most trusted men?
Even for him, this was a first.
David simply looked at him and said nothing more.
Just then, Aaron’s phone vibrated.
He pulled it out.
Yara.
He stared at the name for a moment, then answered.
The gun remained aimed at David.
Aaron raised the phone to his ear.
“Speak.”
His voice was ice-cold.
Yara’s tearful voice came through the line.

“I know I’m nothing more than a pet to you.”
She choked back a sob.
“But Aaron, I’m begging you. Please don’t let anything happen to Evan.”
She could accept not being the one he chose.
She could even accept never being one of his choices at all.
But she was terrified that Evan was going to die this time.
Before Aaron could respond, Yara started crying even harder.
“I can’t reach him anymore.”
Aaran went still.
