ella was standing only a few feet from Aaron.
When the bullet struck his arm, blood splattered across her face.
It felt warm for a fleeting moment. Then the metallic scent of blood filled her nose.
Stella dropped the gun.
It hit the ground with a heavy thud.
She calmly raised a hand and wiped the blood from her face.
The gesture was composed, but dangerously so.
She was far too calm.
When they had tried to teach her how to shoot before, she had resisted every lesson.
Yet now, after shooting Aaron, she remained unnervingly calm.
Everyone knew that the calmer someone appeared after pulling the trigger, the more dangerous they were.
Aaron couldn’t believe Stella had actually shot him.
He climbed to his feet and glared at her, his entire body radiating menace.
Then he let out a mocking laugh.
“You’ve certainly grown bold. You actually dared to shoot me.”
“After everything you know, how could you ask something so disgusting of me?”
Stella’s expression was cold and distant.
Aaron froze.
“What did you say?”
She found him disgusting?
Stella briefly closed her eyes.
“After everything that happened between me and the Wrights, how could you ask me to do this?”
Had Aaron forgotten how badly things had ended between her and the Wrights in Harbor City?
Back then, he had always stood behind her.
She had believed he was protecting her and taking her side.
So why was he now asking her to protect Evan?
“You think I’m disgusting?” Aaron asked.
“Don’t you think what you’re doing is disgusting?” Stella replied. “You know exactly what Evan means to me
now.”
Aaron said nothing.

“You can love Yara. You can even protect Evan because he’s her brother. But how could you ask me to protect him
Stella paused.
She looked at the brother she had just shot, her eyes turning completely cold.
“You actually expected me to defend Evan in front of Dad.”
Aaron had believed Michael was holding Evan, so he had expected Stella to guarantee Evan’s safety
He wanted her to protect Evan and keep him alive.
