Chapter 396

Their breathing caught, and they instantly moved more quietly.

Aaron asked, “What do you think about Felix?”

“Felix?” Stella said. “Nothing will happen between us.’

Felix had been helping her all this time.

She could feel the invisible barrier between them, but neither of them had broken through it.

Before that happened, Stella did not want to say too much.

But she had already said she was going back to Eirden.

The meaning was clear enough. She believed Felix would understand.

Aaron said, “You…”

He seemed to want to say something, but after thinking about it, he only said, “He’ll be hurt if he hears you say that.”

For some reason, those words made Stella’s heart tremble.

“All right. I’m hanging up. Once I finish handling things here, I’ll go back to Eirden.”

“Mm. I’ll be waiting.”

After hanging up, Stella set down her phone and continued reading.

Dora and Fiona stood at the turn of the upstairs hallway and exchanged a look.

Both of their eyes were full of shock.

Dora closed her eyes.

Fiona asked, “Are we still asking?”

“Yes. Of course we are.”

Dora gathered herself, then went downstairs with Fiona.

Stella heard them but did not even lift her head.

Dora walked over and sat across from her. Only then did Stella glance at her.

Over the past two days, Stella rarely looked openly vicious.

Just like now, there was even a smile in her eyes.

But Dora knew very well what kind of poisonous heart was hidden beneath that smiling gaze.

She was not afraid of Stella losing control.

She was afraid of Stella smiling.

That was what Dora had truly learned over the past few days

Dora asked, “Do you hate me?”

She asked directly.

Mainly because Stella had pushed her to this point. Dora no longer had the patience to circle around anything.

She had sensed it.

Beneath the smile in Stella’s eyes, there was a deep, intense hatred.

And because of that hatred, Dora now only wanted to know why Stella hated her

Then she could solve the problem from the root.

At Dora’s question, Stella raised an eyebrow. “Hate?”

“Yes. I can feel it. You hate me. You hate me very much.”

Dora sounded absolutely certain when she said the words “very much.”

Stella laughed. “So you know you’re hateful?”

Dora froze.

Fiona froze too.

Hearing Stella say that made both their hearts tremble.

With a sharp snap, Stella closed the book in her hands.

Then she looked at Dora, the smile in her eyes growing deeper.

“You’ve done quite a lot of vicious things in the past, haven’t you?”

Her voice was very soft.

But every word struck straight into Dora’s heart.

Upstairs, Dora had only been guessing.

But now, facing the smile on Stella’s face, she knew.

Stella truly hated her.

At this moment, Dora was almost certain of it.

“Why?” Dora asked, her chest tight.

Stella said, “Why? Ha. I’d like to know that too.”

Could people really become that cruel when profit was involved?

Dora said nothing.

Stella continued, “You seem to sleep very peacefully every night.”

Ever since Stella married Evan, she had always known that Dora slept well.

Of course, not recently.

Under Stella’s torment, Dora naturally had not had any peaceful days.

But before this, Dora had always slept very well. She would fall asleep and sleep through the night until morning.
