Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 406

Chapter 406

As soon as Lucas returned to the office, his assistant told him Leon had been waiting for him for a while.

Lucas strode toward his office.

Leon was in Lucas’s office, helping himself to a cup of tea from the expensive loose-leaf blend Lucas had just gotten in.

For someone who was usually the least serious of the group, Lucas had strangely old-man taste.

When Lucas walked in, Leon set down the cup and gave him a look. “Seriously, what is this hobby? You’re not even thirty, and you already drink tea like a retired professor.”

“You wouldn’t get it,” Lucas said.

What, was he supposed to be obsessed with coffee just because everyone else was?

He had never liked the stuff.

Every time he went to Leon’s office or met with Evan, someone always shoved a cup of coffee in front of him. Bitter, burnt, and impossible to enjoy.

Tea was better. Much better.

Lucas loosened the tie around his neck and sat down across from Leon.

“Where did you go?” Leon asked.

These days, Lucas was usually at the office during the day, unless he was on a business trip.

It was rare for him to leave during work hours.

Lucas lit a cigarette. “Went to see Stella.”

Leon fell silent.

Stella.

At the mention of her, Leon’s head started to ache too. “Evan sent you?”

Lately, Evan had been so overwhelmed by Stella’s constant trouble that even the company was becoming a

mess.

And they still had partnerships with Wright Corporation.

With Stella stirring things up, they had all been affected to some extent.

Lucas took a drag from his cigarette and gave a low hum.

His voice was clearly edged with impatience.

Leon asked, “So what did Stella say?”

“She won’t divorce him.”

Leen had nothing to say for a moment.

If this had been the Evan trom before, that would have been good news.

But now, Evan was just as determined to get divorced.

“These two are ridiculous,” Leon said. “First Evan refused to divorce her, and now she’s the one refusing.”

They were treating divorce like some childish game.

But everyone could see that this so-called game was full of anger and hatred.

Stella was going after Wright Corporation with real hatred now.

Especially since yesterday.

From what they could feel on their side, she had become far more ruthless than before.

Lucas said, “You should pull out of your partnerships with Wright Corporation as soon as possible.”

Leon had just picked up his teacup again.

When he heard Lucas say that out of nowhere, his hand froze in midair.

He looked up at Lucas and caught the brief flash of depth and helplessness in his eyes.

“What happened?” Leon asked.

Lucas had always been smooth, whether in business or in personal relationships.

More than that, he valued loyalty.

After all these years of brotherhood, whenever one of them asked for help, he had never once said no.

So why did this sound like he was stabbing Evan in the back?

Leon set down the teacup. “What’s going on with you? You’d actually do something like this?”

There was even a hint of contempt in his voice.

What was this?

Felix and Evan were already fighting, and now Lucas, the third brother, was going to stick a knife into Evan from behind?

That was low, no matter how he looked at it.

But after thinking about it, Leon realized Lucas wasn’t that kind of person.

“Do you know something I don’t?” he asked.

“Wright Corporation probably won’t get through this.”

Leon froze.

The moment he heard that, his heart gave a hard jolt.
