Chapter 427
All of these things piled together until they almost became an illness in Dora’s heart. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.
“What are we supposed to do now? Fiona is over a hundred pounds. How are we supposed to get her to the hospital?”
If Fiona were a child, carrying her that far might not be a big deal.
But Fiona was heavy too. Even carrying her on someone’s back would be exhausting.
That damned girl.
Dora had told her before to eat less. Girls looked better when they were slim.
But Fiona never listened. She ate so much.
She had lost some weight over the past few days, but how much could that really change?
“Say something!” Dora snapped.
Seeing Evan remain silent only made her angrier, and she turned all that fire on him, hoping he could come up with a solution.
Her youngest son had died from a high fever when he was only one.
Because of that, Dora had always been terrified of high fevers.
Now that Fiona had a fever, Dora was completely panicked.
“Send her to the hospital,” Evan said irritably.
“How?”
Evan fell silent.
How?
Thinking of how Stella refused to let any cars in, Evan was so angry he kicked the railing
“How else? I’ll carry her.”
This was so damn frustrating.
Evan went straight to Fiona’s room, carried her onto his back, and headed out.
Dora hurried after him.
She was exhausted and starving, and now Fiona was sick.
