Chapter 461

Many restaurants were already closed at that hour, so Frank took Summer straight to a twenty-four-hour fast-food place. He planned to let her eat quickly, then drive her to the hospital.
The car stopped outside the restaurant.
Frank urged her, “Hurry up.”
This was ridiculous. Who insisted on eating in the middle of the night when things were this urgent?
Summer looked at him. “Aren’t you coming in with me?”
Frank frowned. “Do you think we can show up in public together right now? Don’t forget, our plan inside the Wright family hasn’t succeeded yet. If we’re exposed now, it won’t benefit either of us.”
“Plan, plan, plan. That’s all you ever talk about. I was almost driven to death, and you’re still talking about your plan?”
Right now, Summer was extremely resistant to hearing anything about Frank’s so-called plan.
She really felt like she was about to lose her mind.
Frank’s patience thinned. “Are you eating or not?”
“I am. But my cards won’t work right now.”
“How is that possible?”
At first, Frank still did not believe her.
But after hearing Summer say it again and again, he was starting to believe it a little.
Just then, Mrs. Mendes added, “Mr. Holland, Miss Bailey is telling the truth. Things have been very hard
for us at the Wright estate.”
Frank fell silent.
Now that even Mrs. Mendes had said so, Frank, who had been unhappy the entire ride, finally believed
Summer.
Shock filled his eyes.
“Stella really has that much power now?”
“What do you think?” Summer snapped.
“Even Evan can’t do anything about her?”
“She had someone slap Dora right in front of Evan. What do you think?”
Frank said nothing.

He had already been shocked, but after hearing that, he finally believed it completely.
He had not expected Stella to actually do something like that.
She was something else.
Should he say she was capable, or should he say she was insane?
“She had someone slap Dora? She would do something that disrespectful?”
Frank had seen Stella from a distance a few times.
She had a small, gentle-looking face and seemed soft and mild.
She did not look like the kind of woman who would do something so outrageous.
“Respect?” Summer let out a cold laugh.
The word sounded ridiculous to her.
If Stella had even the slightest respect for the Wrights, she never would have had someone slap Dora. She never would have treated Summer like this either.
Summer had just given birth, after all.
And what had happened?
“Just hurry up and get me something to eat. I’m not getting out,” Summer said irritably.
She was so hungry that she barely had the strength to speak. She had no energy to keep discussing this.
Since they could not appear in public together, Frank could go buy the food for her.
“Fine. Wait here.”
With that, Frank pushed open the door and got out.
Once he left, only Summer and Mrs. Mendes remained in the car.
After being yelled at by Summer earlier, Mrs. Mendes did not say anything now.
Summer closed her eyes. “I really don’t know what the point of any of this is anymore.”
The plan.
What plan?
With the Wright family in its current state, even if Frank’s plan succeeded, what meaning would it have?
“Miss,” Mrs. Mendes suddenly said, “isn’t that Mr. Wright’s car?”
