Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 48

Chapter 48

Pick me up at the biotech lab this afternoon,Stella said calmly.

Of course. I’ll be there at four,Gray replied.

Stella lowered her voice slightly. Has the surgical record been released?

It’s already out. The engagement today is even higher than yesterday.

She smiled.

Good.

The Wright family was probably in chaos again.

Summer had been so confident, protected by the entire family and her wealthy mother.

Today, Stella would make it very clear-

No one could shield her.

Tomorrow,Stella added, release the car accident from two years ago.

Gray nodded. Understood.

She blew gently on a spoonful of soup before taking a bite.

One piece at a time.

And Summer would suffer a little more each day.

That was the point.

After breakfast, Gray drove her to Times Square.

The car stopped outside the complex.

As she reached for the door handle, Gray stopped her.

Would you like me to pick you up at noon?

No.

The research was entering a crucial stage. She would be busy.

I’ll bring lunch then,Gray said quietly. Sir instructed that you shouldn’t eat outside food right now.

She paused, then nodded. Alright.

Physically she felt fine, but Jennifer and Aaron insisted she needed rest and nourishment.

If Aaron were here personally, she probably wouldn’t even be allowed out of the house.

After parting from Gray, Stella walked toward the inner building of the biotech facility.

She rounded a corner-

+30 Bonus

And stopped.

Evan.

He was leaning against the cold tile wall outside the elevators, a halfsmoked cigarette between his fingers. His long legs were stretched casually, but the tension in his posture was unmistakable.

He was still wearing the same clothes from yesterday.

Likely spent the night at the hospital.

He looked at her.

She looked back.

Neither moved.

After a moment, she spoke first.

What are you doing here?

Even Lucas didn’t know about this company. Only her design studio.

Felix did. 1

But would he have told Evan?

Evan’s gaze was deep. Cold.

Shouldn’t I be asking you that? What are you doing here?

As he spoke, his eyes flicked past her shoulder.

Then his lips curled in faint mockery.

Where’s Felix? Not with you today?

The way he said Felix’s name was laced with hostility.

Stella’s chest tightened. What does this have to do with him?

Six months,Evan said slowly. Felix’s been back eight months. You’ve been seeing him for six.

Felix had spent most of his time abroad before returning permanently eight months ago.
