Felix said nothing.
Then he laughed.
“Looks like Evan taught you a pretty serious lesson.”
Stella said nothing.
The moment Felix mentioned Evan, even the oatmeal in front of her lost its appeal.
Thinking about Evan made her furious.
She had spent half the night talking to Jennifer, and all she could think about was what Evan had been planning
That bastard.
He had handed over the entire Wright family.
So why had he refused to hand over the divorce agreement too?
What was he thinking?
She had no idea what had gotten into him.
Seeing her expression change, Felix asked, “You’re upset again?”
Stella said, “I thought it was a sure thing.”
Everything had been arranged when it came to the divorce.
The pressure on Evan had been relentless.
Aaron.
Felix.
And all the pressure Stella had put on the Wright family had already left Evan unable to breathe.
Whatever feelings remained between Stella and Evan had been completely worn away under that pressure.
By the end, Evan should have wanted to end the marriage even more than she did.
But who would have thought he would play her like this?
“I don’t know what good keeping this marriage does him. He’s probably just trying to make my life miserable.”
Stella grumbled as she ate.
If Evan had done all this simply to spite her, then the next time she saw him, she would never forgive him.
Felix said nothing.
Was he doing it to spite her?
Felix was not so sure.
