Chapter 753
‘Aaron held a cigar between his fingers.
Even sitting beside Stella, the powerful build beneath his tailored suit gave off an unmistakable force.
He carried authority with effortless elegance.
Then Stella’s phone buzzed in her hand.
She turned the screen over and looked down.
It was that same unfamiliar number.
And the message was the same as before.
‘Felix isn’t a good man. Don’t get involved with him.‘
How many times had that been now?
Three?
The wording barely changed each time, as though Evan were deliberately trying to warn her.
Over and over again.
Like he wanted to keep reminding her not to let her guard down.
Stella frowned.
What exactly was Evan trying to do?
He had left behind that mess and disappeared. Whenever she called, she was blocked.
Yet he kept sending her messages like this.
She thought of Felix’s phone call outside the restroom before they boarded.
Her expression darkened further.
“Another message from Felix?”
Stella looked up. “Huh?”
“You two only just separated.”
Aaron’s voice was low, giving nothing away.
But Stella’s cheeks warmed slightly at his words.
“He really does care about you,” Aaron said. “He came all the way to Eirden with you.”
Stella said nothing.
Care about her?
Before today, she would have believed that without question.
Especially after Felix told her the truth about their past, she had not doubted his feelings for her at all.

Not until that phone call before they boarded.
Seeing Stella stay silent, Aaron took a slow draw from his cigar.
When he exhaled, his voice turned colder.
“What? You still can’t get over Evan?”
Even as her brother, his authority made Stella feel a quiet pressure.
Because she did not answer his question about Felix, Aaron assumed she was still hung up on Evan.
At the displeasure in his tone, Stella’s heart gave a sharp jolt.
It was more than displeasure.
There was something dangerous in it, as though he wanted to tear Evan apart.
Stella quickly shook her head. “No.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes. I’m over him.”
She truly was.
She no longer had any feelings for Evan.
“Then why did you stay in Harbor City for so long?” Aaron asked. “What was the reason?”
Aaron had never fully understood why Stella had stayed in Harbor City for so long to go after the Wright family.
But after all that time, she had still failed to divorce Evan.
That had left both Aaron and their father, Joshua Hogarth, deeply dissatisfied.
