Chapter 760
The next day, Leah came to see Stella.
Neither Michael nor Aaron had returned the night before.
The last time Stella had come back, she had stayed for a week.
Even then, there had been two or three days when she did not see either of them.
In a family like this, time together seemed brief.
Almost a luxury.
When Leah arrived, Stella was having breakfast.
Leah stepped forward respectfully.
“Miss.”
Stella nodded but said nothing.
Aaron had said the night before that Stella should go with Leah, not that Leah would be following her.
Stella still had no idea what she was supposed to do with Leah.
Leah checked the time.
“Miss, we need to leave by nine.”
“Already?”
It was already 8:40, and she had only just started breakfast.
Leah nodded.
“Yes. You’ll need to change into something loose and comfortable first.‘
Stella was wearing a dress.
Hearing that she needed to change into casual clothes only made her more curious about where Leah was taking
her.
So she asked, “Where are we going?”
“You’ll see when we get there, Miss.”
Leah did not tell her directly.
But the mention of changing clothes gave Stella an uneasy feeling.
Still, she nodded.
Aaron had arranged this.
Her own brother would not harm her, right?
She would soon learn that, sometimes, her brother really did seem determined to work her to death.
After quickly finishing breakfast, Stella headed upstairs.

On the way, she said to Gray, “Have someone find out who helped Summer in Harbor City.
She had spent all night trying to figure out who would reach out to Summer the moment Stella left Harbor City.
Jennifer suspected Evan.
But Stella was certain Evan would not help Summer now.
Gray nodded. “Understood.”
Stella went back to her room to change.
She had just taken off her dress when her phone buzzed.
It was another message from that same number.
‘Stay away from Felix, or you’ll regret it.‘
The message was different from yesterday’s.
But it was still warning her to stay away from Felix.
Stella called the number again.
Once again, it rang only once before disconnecting.
Stella said nothing.
The abrupt hang–up left her with nowhere to put her anger.
Then another familiar number called.
A Harbor City number.
Summer’s.
Stella answered without speaking.
She wanted to see what Summer had to say.
Or was she calling to beg to return to the Wright estate again?
If that was it, there was no chance Stella would allow it.
On the other end, Summer gave a low laugh when Stella stayed silent.
“You wanted to see me sink completely into the mud. Looks like I’m going to disappoint you.”
Her voice held a near hysterical edge of provocation.
Stella said, “If I were you, I’d treasure the stability I finally managed to find.”
