Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 77

Chapter 77

By the time Stella was wheeled out of emergency, Jennifer had already rushed over after hearing the news.

On the first floor-

She ran into Evan first.

He was holding Summer’s baby in his arms, walking alongside a full medical team. She had no idea where they were headed.

Then she saw Ruby.

Ruby was lying on a mobile stretcher, covered in blood. Jennifer had no idea who had hurt her, but she was being rushed off for treatment.

And then-

Jennifer finally saw Stella.

Pale. Fragile. Lying motionless on the hospital bed.

Her heart clenched.

“What happened? Why were you bleeding? Was it because you’ve been overworking these past few days?”

The doctor, adjusting the IV line, answered calmly.

“She just had a miscarriage. She wasn’t stable enough for something that potent. It likely aggravated the bleeding.”

Jennifer blinked.

“Over-supplementing? We didn’t. We just made some chicken soup.”

Even chicken soup wasn’t allowed now?

She instinctively opened her mouth to question the doctor further-

But Stella suddenly grabbed her wrist.

Jennifer froze.

She looked down at Stella.

Stella gave a faint shake of her head.

The doctor finished adjusting the dosage and carefully explained the precautions before leaving the room.

Once they were alone-

Jennifer grabbed Stella’s hand.

“What did you eat?”

Stella’s voice was weak but steady.

“This morning… He made me drink this concentrated herbal tonic this morning. It was probably too strong.”

Jennifer’s mouth twitched.

“I-he-”

She almost lost it.

She didn’t even know what to say anymore.

Unbelievable. The things he shouldn’t be taking care of, he handles with precision.

But when it comes to the woman he’s supposed to protect? One bowl of soup and he puts her in the ER.

Jennifer thought about what she had just seen downstairs.

Evan holding Summer’s child.

Surrounded by specialists.

Looking tense. Focused. Urgent. 1

Her anger flared.

“When are you divorcing him?”

Her voice dropped low.

“You end up hemorrhaging because of him, and he’s busy running around for Summer?”

Anyone stuck with a husband like that-

That was a lifetime of bad luck.

Stella exhaled quietly.

“He won’t agree. What can I do on my own?”

In Harbor City, if Evan refused-

Divorce wasn’t simple.

Jennifer scoffed.

“He won’t agree? What gives him the right not to?”

He spent his days orbiting Summer, and now he had the nerve to refuse divorce?

If he truly cared about this marriage-

It wouldn’t look like this.

“So what are you going to do?” Jennifer pressed.

“You can’t leave, and you can’t stay like this.”

Stella’s voice turned colder.

“What can I do? I’ve already pushed as hard as I can.

“Last night I drenched Dora in water. Fiona ended up with a cut on her face because of him.

“And he still won’t divorce me.”

Jennifer stared at her.

“There was another fight last night?”

“More than a fight.”

Stella’s lips curved faintly.

“He’s convinced I’m sleeping with Felix now.”

Jennifer went silent.

Unbelievable.

“He can’t even clean up his mess with Summer, and he’s accusing you?”

She shook her head in disbelief.

“He’s really reached a new low.”

Stella closed her eyes briefly.

“I just want out.”

Right now, that was the only thing she was certain of.

They couldn’t live properly.

They couldn’t separate cleanly.
