That bastard.
Did he seriously have no shame over what he had done?
How could he still be so shameless?
Then again, Evan had always been like that.
The more Stella thought about it, the angrier she became.
“There is,” Gray said.
“Then call him. Right now.”
“Give me a moment.”
Stella was furious with Evan and only wanted to call him so she could vent some of the resentment building inside her.
Ever since he had run without signing the divorce papers, that resentment had only grown day by day.
And with him sending messages like this whenever he pleased…
Stella felt as though she would explode if she did not let it out.
Gray brought over a laptop.
After checking the number on Stella’s phone, he typed for a moment.
“Miss, try now.”
Stella called the number immediately.
This time, it did not disconnect after a single ring.
It rang several times before someone deliberately declined it.
Stella was already furious.
That only made her angrier.
She called again.
Halfway through the ringing, the call was finally answered
Evan did not speak
He stayed silent
And that silence felt like it was slowly driving Stella insane
She took a deep breath
“Eval)”
“Talk”
His voice was cold
Underneath it was something dangerous, like a predator holding itself still
Hearing that tone, Stella finally snapped
7
“If you’re a man, just sign the divorce papers already!”
“So you’re that eager?”
Stella’s breath caught.
“What?”
“You want to be with Felix that badly?”
Felix again.
Ever since they had fallen apart, Evan had kept dragging Felix into everything.
“And what if I do?” Stella shot back. “You stole his identity. Evan, you’re unbelievable.”
Thinking about why she had agreed to marry him in the first place made Stella farious all over again.
He had known the truth all along.
Yet at the last possible moment, he had refused to divorce her.
Who exactly was he trying to trap?
“Yes,” Evan said. “I’m not a good man. But I won’t divorce you.”
Stella went still.
“What did you say?”
He would not divorce her?
The words made her heart sink.
“What do you want?”
‘Remember this, Stella. As long as I refuse to divorce you, you’ll always be my wife. You’ll never get to be with Felix openly. ”
Stella’s anger surged.
“What right do you have to refuse a divorce? You…”
“Yes. I lied to you back then.”
Evan did not deny deceiving her.
He admitted it.
“You adimitted it, and you still think you get to punish me?”
His admission only made Stella angvier
