Chapter 809

Felix looked at Stella.

“Stella, give me some time.”

He needed time to deal with Summer.

Stella said nothing.

Time.

The word suddenly echoed with another memory.

Evan had said the same thing to her once.

His brother had just died, and he had asked her to give him time to sort things out.

Back then, Summer had been at her most vulnerable in Evan’s eyes.

He went to the Wright estate every day.

And when Stella grew unhappy, he told her, “My brother just died. Give me some time to handle things.”

She gave him time.

But the time he needed only kept growing.

And Summer took up more and more of it.

Now Felix was asking her for time too.

And it was because of the same woman.

Summer.

“Why?”

Evan was one thing.

Back then, Evan had known nothing.

He believed the child was Steven’s, so at least he had thought he was looking after Summer for his brother’s sake.

But Felix?

Why was he doing this?

Right now, Stella wanted only one answer.

A reason Felix would protect Summer.

“She’s my father’s mistress.” 1

“She isn’t.”

Stella did not believe him at all.

She had known Felix’s father for years in Harbor City.

Everyone knew what kind of man he was.

If anyone called him Harbor City’s second most principled man, no one would be able to name the first

And yet Felix was giving him a label like that.

“I know you don’t believe me.”

Stella went quiet.

He knew.

And he was still giving her that answer.

Suddenly, Stella did not want to say anything more.

She looked at Gray.

“Have someone deal with Summer, Tonight.”

“Yes, Miss.”

“Stella!”

Felix’s voice sharpened at once.

Stella turned to look at him.

There was no warmth left in her eyes.

Their gazes collided, and the quiet understanding that had once existed between them shattered beneath the force of it.

“You can’t do that.”

“Evan made me endure her for years. Now you want me to endure her too?”

Stella had long since run out of patience with Summer.

Especially after Summer moved into Crown Bay and immediately called to provoke her.

That had been the end of Stella’s restraint.

Whatever Felix’s reason for helping Summer, Stella only wanted Summer gone from her life.

Felix’s hands clenched into fists.

A vein stood out at his temple.

“Give me some time.”

He said every word with force.

His attitude was unmistakably firm.

He was standing in front of Stella and protecting the one person she hated most.

Stella looked at Gray.

“Now.”

The two words came out cold.

Her resolve was just as firm.

Gray nodded.

“Yes, Miss.”
