Chapter 813
That line about how much she had suffered revealed Evan’s regret.
At last, he had admitted that he had not been a good husband to Stella.
He had hurt her deeply.
“You don’t get to tell me what to do,” Stella said. “Worry about yourself first. Felix isn’t the only one who wants you gone. I…’
She paused.
When she spoke again, her voice was colder than before.
“I do too.”
She meant it.
After everything involving her mother and Summer, Stella had wanted Evan out of her life for good too.
Evan went silent.
Hearing her say that, he paused on the other end of the line.
Then he gave a bitter laugh.
“I know.”
He did know.
Hadn’t Stella torn the Wright family apart because she wanted every one of them to pay?
She did not waste another word on him.
She hung up.
Felix was still holding her wrist.
“I need to go.”
Her four words came out cold.
“You believe him?” Felix asked, watching her.
Evan had just said Felix might have ulterior motives for coming to Eirden.
Might.
But even that word carried suspicion.
And once doubt took root, it only spread deeper.
“Was he wrong?”
The quiet question, paired with the ice in her eyes, made Felix’s chest sink.
She really believed Evan.
Even after things between Stella and Evan had fallen apart beyond repair, she still believed him.
Stella drew in a breath.
“The moment I learned you were helping Summer, I started wondering how much of what you told me was true.”

Her gaze hardened.
“Maybe none of it was.
“Stella.”
Felix’s tone cooled.
The softness from moments ago was gone, replaced by something sharp.
“Shouldn’t I doubt you?” Stella asked. “Felix, you know there is no room for compromise when it comes to Summer. Yet you chose to help her no matter what.” 1
It did not matter what Evan had said.
Even if Evan had said nothing, Stella would still have doubted Felix.
Because Summer had opened the door to far too many questions.
She had even begun to question why Felix had come to Eirden at all.
He had deep roots in Harbor City.
Had he really moved so much of his life here because of her?
“Summer will get what she deserves,” Felix said. “That day isn’t far away.”
“I want to see it now.”
Felix wanted her to wait.
But Stella refused.
She had waited long enough because of Evan.
She would not wait again.
They stood locked in silence.
Felix still held her wrist, with no intention of letting go.
Faced with Stella’s unyielding stare, he said slowly, “One month. Give me one final month.”
He did not know whether one month would be enough to settle everything.
