Chapter 819
Stella might have been safely back home in Eirden.
But Jennifer still told her to be careful.
That place did not feel like an ordinary home.
Jennifer had a feeling Stella’s return might bring even bigger trouble.
“I know,” Stella said.
Even without Jennifer’s warning, Stella was already on guard.
They talked for a little while longer before hanging up.
Jennifer had originally wanted to vent to Stella.
Instead, she barely got the chance to complain about Leon before realizing Stella’s situation was even worse.
Now Jennifer’s own frustration had nowhere to go.
She turned and headed for the door.
But after only two steps, the housekeeper came forward and blocked her path.
“Ms. Tanner, Mr. Redson said you can’t leave right now.”
“Move.”
The moment Jennifer heard Leon was not allowing her to leave, anger flared.
What was this supposed to be?
He had taken his childhood friend to the hospital, yet he expected Jennifer not to step outside?
Why had she never realized that jerk could be this controlling?
The housekeeper did not move.
He stood firmly in her way.
Jennifer’s breathing grew sharper.
“What is this? Are you trying to keep me here?”
Leon was unbelievable.
If he was going to pull something like this, then Jennifer had seriously misjudged him
“He said he’ll be back soon.”
“And what does that have to do with me? Get out of my way”
She was already furious.
Now, with the housekeeper blocking her, she felt even more certain that Leon was no different from Evan
“Ms. Tanner, please don’t make things difficult for me”
“I swear, you people…”
Jennifer was livid.

She knew everyone here only listened to Leon.
So she pulled out her phone and called him.
He declined after one ring.
The dead tone in her ear made her anger boil over.
That bastard.
What, he was with Monique now, so he could not even answer her call?
Fine.
Then he had better not try to keep her trapped here.
Jennifer called again.
This time, he answered.
“What is it?”
Leon’s low voice came through the phone.
He was clearly angry about Monique getting hurt.
Jennifer almost laughed.
She had hurt Monique?
Was he blind?
Had he really not seen Monique deliberately press herself against the knife?
And now he was giving Jennifer attitude?
Jennifer drew in a breath.
“Leon, you shameless jerk. Tell your people to get out of my way.”
“I’ll be back soon,” Leon said coldly. “You’re not going anywhere.”
“I’m not going anywhere? What, are you going to make me pay Monique’s hospital bills?”
That bastard.
“Nothing else. I’m hanging up.”
“Before, when Stella was fighting the Wright family, she made sure they lost every place they thought they could control. You know that, right?”
Leon went silent.
The moment Jennifer said that, his breathing turned cold
“Jennifer.”
