Chapter 827
Felix had helped her when she needed him
And Stella had trusted him
But the moment he chose to help Summer, every bit of that trust shattered.
And then there was the Hogarth family.
The longer Stella stayed here, the more wrong everything felt.
It was as though there were things happening all around her that she could not see clearly.
And somehow
She was trapped right in the middle of it.
“Stella, maybe you should run,” Jennifer said.
The Hogarth family. Felix
As far as Jennifer was concerned, the only person Stella could truly trust now was herself.
“You think I haven’t considered it?”
“Then why don’t you…”
“Where could I go now?”
Jennifer fell silent.
Right.
Stella was a Hogarth.
Felix was watching her too.
And Evan
Before, Stella had only needed to deal with Evan
Now there were too many eyes on her.
And after returning to Eirden, anyone watching the Hogarth family was probably watching Stella too.
So where could she possibly run?
“This is so much more complicated now,” Jennifer said. “Before, you only had to avoid Evan Now..”
She did not know how to finish
Whatever Stella was facing now would take every bit of focus she had
“Are you scared? Jennifer asked
If Jennifer were in Stella’s position, she would be looking for any way out.
She would not be able to face something like this head-on.
Facing hardship was one thing.
But it depended on what you were facing
And Jennifer knew she could never handle Stella’s situation.
“What is there to be afraid of? Stella said. “Everyone dies someday.”
Jennifer’s heart skipped
“Stella…”
What was that supposed to mean?
Why was she suddenly talking about life and death?
“Life is full of problems,” Stella said. “There’s no point being afraid of them.”
Was it complicated?
Of course it was.
But Stella did not think fear would help her.
“I want to see what’s really hiding behind all of this.”
Her voice was cold.
What Stella had gone through with the Wright family had made her stronger.
So even faced with a situation this tangled, she refused to be afraid.
They talked for a while longer before ending the call.
Jennifer took a cab straight to the hospital.
She had told the Redsons that, now Leon knew about the pregnancy, he had the right to be part of the
decision.
But she had only said that to the Redsons.
