Chapter 845
That was enough to make Vivian hang up in a rage.
The apartment finally fell quiet.
Leon looked at Jennifer, who was still packing.
Irritation surged through him.
He stepped forward, snatched the clothes from her hands, and tossed them aside.
“What are you doing?” Jennifer snapped.
“Are you seriously not done with this?”
He was over here fighting his family for her, while she was already trying to back out.
Jennifer reached for her things.
“Who exactly is the one who won’t let this go?”
But Leon moved them out of reach.
“Didn’t you hear how hard I just defended you?”
How he had argued with his own mother.
Had Jennifer somehow missed all of it?
“I’m past the age where one apology and a sweet gesture can make everything okay.”
She had not forgotten how Leon had treated her yesterday.
Did he really think he could make it disappear like this?
Too bad.
One incident was enough to reveal the truth beneath everything.
She was not going to fool herself that easily again.
Leon’s temper flared.
“Who gave you some grand apology? Don’t twist this around.”
“What apology?
“You make it sound like I did something terrible.”
Jennifer went quiet and simply looked at him.
Within seconds, that look made Leon lose his nerve.
“Fine. I was wrong, okay? I was wrong.”
This was driving him insane.
“Wrong?” Jennifer said. “You can’t be wrong.”
“It was because of Monique yesterday, wasn’t it? I treated you badly because of Monique. I’ll change, okay? I’ll change.”
“I don’t need you to change, and I’m not trying to change you.”
Changing someone was painful.
And a person’s nature was not something that could be changed just because they said they would.
