Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 853

Stella spent the entire day with Leah.

It was not until evening that Gray picked her up and drove her back to the castle.

She was drenched in sweat.

Whatever training she had done that day had clearly been more grueling than usual.

She handed the gun to Gray, who immediately secured it.

“You didn’t leave this at the shooting range?”

“I forgot.”

Stella’s tone was flat.

Gray quickly secured the weapon.

Stella had been so exhausted on the drive back that she had fallen asleep in the car.

Gray had not had a chance to speak to her.

While Stella went upstairs to shower, he waited downstairs.

Nearly half an hour passed before she finally came back down.

Her long hair was still damp.

The housekeeper had already arranged dinner for her.

When Stella saw Gray was still there, her brows drew together.

“Is there something else?”

Gray nodded.

The moment Stella saw his grave expression, she knew it was not good news.

She walked over to the dining table and sat down.

“Is it about Summer?”

“Yes. She has kidney failure.”

Stella had just picked up her spoon.

Her fingers tightened around the handle as she looked at Gray.

“That’s rather sudden, isn’t it?”

And should that not have been good news?

Why did Gray look so serious?

“It is.”

People like Summer did not deserve a peaceful ending.

Stella gave a soft laugh.

“So fate is on her side, is it? Is it really?”

Only yesterday, Summer had called to gloat.

She had claimed that even fate itself was protecting her.

That Stella winning a few battles meant nothing because the heavens were on Summer’s side.
