Chapter 868

Locked up?

This was still Harbor City.

If Leon was determined to keep Jennifer from leaving, there was only so much outsiders could do.

Jennifer was furious.

She cursed Leon out for several minutes before demanding, “Do you know how blindly he trusts Monique?”

“Even after everything between us has gotten this bad, he still believes her. And when he admits he was wrong, he does mean it.”

Leon had said, “I was wrong.”

But all Jennifer heard in those words was impatience.

It was the kind of apology someone gave only to end an argument.

“That sounds exactly like Evan whenever Summer was involved,” Stella said.

Evan had been the same.

Whenever he could no longer defend himself, whenever Stella pushed too hard, he would toss out a careless, “I was wrong

But had he ever truly understood what he had done wrong?

If he had, things between them would never have deteriorated so badly.

“That bastard is driving me insane,” Jennifer snapped.

Leon felt like a stranger to her now.

Before Monique returned, he had never treated Jennifer this way.

But ever since Monique came back, there had been a new layer of distrust in his attitude toward her.

A distrust that had never existed before.

“Men really do become biased when it comes to their childhood sweethearts, their first loves, and their families,” Jennifer sa bitterly.

And because they were biased, they trusted those people without question.

“What is he doing now?” Stella asked.

“He dumped me back here, then went to the Redson house. He’s probably going to argue with them again.”

Every time Leon went home to fight with his family, the Redsons only resented Jennifer more.

Stella saw that clearly too.

“Great. The more he argues with them, the more they’ll hate you.”
