In the end, Evan didn’t respond to Dora
He simply hung up.
Fiona had heard everything on speaker.
Her anger flared instantly.
“Is Evan really going to give everything back to her? What gives her the right?”
Dora’s face was dark.

“You heard what he said. If we don’t return it, the public backlash won’t stop.”
Fiona fell silent.
Dora was trembling with rage.
“And Felix,” she muttered bitterly. “How did he even end up interested in her?”
She shouldn’t have mentioned him.
The moment she did, Fiona’s expression shifted.
Her hands tightened under the blanket, fists clenched hard.
Hatred flickered in her eyes, sharp enough to tear someone apart.
“I was even thinking of asking Mrs. Luther to make an introduction to the Henderson family,” Dora continued angrily. “I planned to pair you up with Felix. And now look at this mess.”
The more she spoke, the angrier she became.
“Then have Mrs. Luther go,” Fiona said through gritted teeth.
Dora froze.
“What are you talking about? But he and Stella-”

“What could there possibly be between them?” Fiona cut her off. “Stella is my second brother’s wife. My Evan is his friend. What could they have?”
Her tone was sharp.
Felix.
Ever since that chance encounter at the airport when he returned from overseas-

And Stella?

“Come in.”

A sweet, unfamiliar female voice spoke politely.
“Mr. Wright, Mr. Redson is here.”
