"Senior Brother, how have you been all these years?" Chu Haoran asked with concern, his eyes shimmering with memories of the past and uncertainty about the future.
"Me?" Gu Sheng chuckled, "The path of cultivation has been rough, but it’s yielded some accomplishments." He spoke nonchalantly, as if the hardships and dangers were of little consequence.
The two were chatting eagerly when a mocking voice suddenly rang out: "Oh, isn’t this our useless junior brother Chu Haoran? What, still hanging around with your useless senior brother?"
Gu Sheng and Chu Haoran turned to look, only to find several cultivators sneering at them. Among them was their old "acquaintance"—Wu Xinyu.
Chu Haoran’s face darkened instantly. He lowered his head, as if wanting to avoid their gazes. Gu Sheng, however, gently patted his shoulder, signaling him not to mind.
"Wu Xinyu, watch your mouth." Gu Sheng said coldly, his tone radiating undeniable authority.
"What? Not happy?" Wu Xinyu sneered, "The two of you useless trash really think you’re some kind of big deal?"
A flash of cold light flickered in Gu Sheng’s eyes, but he didn’t act rashly. He knew that arguing with such people was pointless; only strength could silence them.
Yet Wu Xinyu and his cohort had no intention of stopping. They surrounded Chu Haoran, shoving him while hurling increasingly offensive remarks.
Gu Sheng could no longer endure. He abruptly stood up, and a powerful aura radiated from him. His eyes gleamed golden, as if two fiery suns were blazing within.
"Do you want to die?" He uttered each word slowly, each syllable dripping with chilling determination.
Wu Xinyu and his companions were startled by Gu Sheng’s presence but still tried to maintain their bravado. When Gu Sheng took a step forward, they suddenly felt an invisible pressure crashing upon them.
Gu Sheng’s figure seemed to transform into a golden mountain, each step weighing heavily on the ground. He extended his hand, his golden palm shimmering brilliantly under the light.
"Come. All of you together." He said casually, as if speaking of an insignificant matter.
Wu Xinyu and his group exchanged glances, then brought out their weapons and charged at Gu Sheng. Yet their attacks appeared trivial against him, easily evaded or blocked.
Gu Sheng’s movements were as fluid as wind, weaving through the crowd with precision. Each strike landed on critical points with unmatched accuracy. His speed was like lightning, dazzling those around.
In no time, Wu Xinyu and his companions were sprawled on the ground, groaning in pain, their eyes filled with terror and disbelief.
Standing before them, Gu Sheng looked down coldly. "Is this the extent of your strength?"
His voice was like a proclamation from hell, sending shivers down their spines. They finally realized that the man standing before them was not someone they could provoke.
"Leave!" Gu Sheng roared, and Wu Xinyu and his gang scrambled out of the tavern, stumbling over themselves in their haste.
Chu Haoran gazed at Gu Sheng’s figure, his eyes radiating admiration and gratitude. He knew that had Gu Sheng not been there tonight, he would have faced relentless humiliation.
"Senior Brother..." he murmured softly.
Initiating his cultivation technique, visions of mighty rivers and mountains, soaring birds, and mystical beasts emerged behind him. Golden waves surged, his aura overwhelming the heavens.
Wu Xinyu and his cohort watched in terror, their faces twisting in fear as they hurriedly brandished weapons to counter Gu Sheng’s power.
Gu Sheng moved with such incredible speed that they couldn’t react.
With a single grab, Gu Sheng seized one of their members as a human shield to block the attacks from the others.
Subsequently, he tore through them like a tiger pouncing downhill, defeating Wu Xinyu and his companions one by one.
Chen Feng attempted to escape but was swiftly caught by Gu Sheng.
Gu Sheng looked at him coldly and said, "Do you really think you can run?"
After the fight, all of Jade Cauldron Cave Heaven was shaken to its core.
Gu Sheng’s name echoed throughout the heavenly domain, known to all and feared by many.
His strength and commanding presence left everyone respecting him and none daring to underestimate him again.
