I didn’t belong here.
Three days since I’d found out the truth about Raven and the kind of man he was and with each passing second I realised more and more that I didn’t belong here.
Not with men like these, men like him.
Not that they did anything to make me feel uncomfortable and their women, were really nice. Even the club bunnies with the too tight revealing clothes had tried to make me feel welcome. But I saw the looks of sympathy they threw me when they thought I wasn’t booking.
Every single one of them had known that Raven wasn’t a man to settle down and fall in love. It had only been me who hadn’t realised it and the worst of it was he had warned me himself.
I just hadn’t listened.
“Hey.*
From my place sitting cross legged on the floor playing blocks with a group of hyperactive toddlers I lifted my head to smile sadly at Lottie. As alway there were two hulking bikers behind her.
They were always with her. Raven wasn’t a one woman kind of man but Lottie had found two of them. I could never see them straying on her. When they looked at her it was like they were looking at their own personal sun.
That’s what I had always wanted, I realised. I wanted someone to love me enough that I was their entire universe.
“Hi.” I placed a block on top of the leaning tower and it toppled to the ground to cheers and whoops.
“Now you owe us one of the little boys whooped and they went off into a high pitched argument on whether I owed them chfolate, candy, ice cream or all
three.
“You look like you’re tired.”
I pushed myself up the standing. “A little.”
“Are you not getting any sleep. The beds here are like rocks but if we spoke to Raven he would get you a better mattress.” Irish said.
My head snapped around, the tendons cracking. “No thank you. The room is fine.” I sighed. It was fine, it wasn’t the lumpiness of the mattress that stopped me sleeping. “I’ve slept in worse places.”
That was the truth as well.
“You don’t need to be down here with the little uns either.” Xander scooped one up to squeals of delight. “Or maybe you could drag Lottie down here so she could get some practice.”
Lottie threw him a scathing look.

glas ketween the two of them. “Are you “I couldn’t even finish the sentence. I knew they were a solid throuple but what would happen to them it s was preghard with one of their kids? Wouldn’: jealousy
“No I am not.” Lottie said firmly. Hegyes flashing. “We are not ready for that
ex
“Yet.” Killian and Xander said in unison. “Give us time.”
I couldn’t help but smile. They were so into her.
“Ignore them. They can’t be serious for even a second.” Lottie touched my arm and drew my attention back to her. “Everyone is worried about you.” She met my eyes. “Raven is worried about you.”
My eyes shifted away and I hugged myself. “I’m fine.”
“No you’re not. You’re not sleeping, you are either hiding in your room or down here with the kids
“I like spending time with the children. I think if my life had been different I’d of liked to work with them.”
“And you still can. You’re still young Daisy your whole life is ahead of you. We just need to end your brothers reign of terror first.”
“Yeah. But there’s always going to be bad men in the world.” I shrugged. I’d been thinking about that a lot in the last few days. I’d always thought Josh was the biggest monster of them all but now I wasn’t so sure. What if there was worse out there. Pulling his strings.
Powerful men who-
“I’m fine.” I muttered again.
“You’re not eating Daisy.. You need to start fighting for the life you are going to have and you can’t do that if you waste away.”
“Raven is worried about you.”
I didn’t even look at Xander. My eyes locked to the rug.
“In fact he’s driving everyone insane and being more of an ass than normal.” Killian chuckled.
It was meant to be a light hearted joke but I didn’t even crack a smile.
I’d only seen Raven in passing since that morning. He’d been mostly out doing whatever biker club presidents did.
Probably getting suckies from strippers.
My lips thinned.
“You’re mad at him.” Lottie said softly.
Shaking myself I straightened. “No, I’m not mad at him.”
Mad didn’t even cover it. “I’m madder at myself anyway. He warned me. He told me I was too young for him.” I choked on the words because the pain was like a knife in my gut. A knife that was constantly twisting and gutting me.
“He was right.” I set my shoulders. “I was never going to be enough for a man like him. I get that now. Raven was right about ”
