Chapter 25

Killian

“Who is she to you?”

No hello, no greeting whatsoever. Glancing up from my half packed bag I let my eyes drift over Xanders rumpled clothes before

going back to what I was doing.

“Doesn’t matter.” I zipped shut the back pack and straightened.

“It matters to me.” Xander muttered and came to stand so close to me that even with my back turned I could still smell her on hin

My shoulders hunched.

Why did he have to smell like her?

“Where are you doing Irish. Why are you running from her?”

I whirled around angrily. “I am not the one who runs when shit gets tough.” I snapped angrily. “That’s her- I mean.” Too late I realised what I had said. “She’s no one to me Xander but she’s clearly important to you. So I’m gonna leave for a while. Maybe go and visit a different chapter house. We both knew this “I motioned between the two of us. “Was never going to last and you like

her.”

I couldn’t help it, my voice became bitter.

“Tell me who she is to you.” He demanded.

I shook my head. “It doesn’t matter.”

Catching me by the shoulder he forced me to look at him. “Then tell me why the fuck she has the same tattoo as you Tell me who

the fuck she is.”

I ripped myself away. “You know who the fuck she is. Unless your really as fucking dumb as you look She’s Charlotte, my Charlotte,” My breathing had changed. It came in ragged pants.

But why had I called her my Charlotte? She wasn’t mine. She had never been mine. Not really

“You’re foster sister.” Xander muttered.

Throwing back my head I laughed. “Oh she was always so much more than that Xander She was my entire fucking world Running a hand through my dark hair I yanked at it. Making it stand on end. The pain of hair ripping out of my scalp did little to calm me

though.

I felt on edge, like a live wire.

Chapter 25

“She wasn’t my foster sister, not really. I mean on paper that’s what we were but she was more. She was my best friend The only

girl I ever-” hissing out a breath, I shook my head. “In the end she let me take the rap for a crime

I didn’t do.” I met his eyes. “You know my story Xander. You know what happened. I don’t need to repeat it.”

Xanders eyes grew soft. “I know. She pulled the trigger and you-”

“I done the time.”

“Fuck Irish.” With a groan he sat in the edge of the bed. “If I had known-” he shook his head. “If I had known who she was then would never have fallen for her. I’d of dragged her out of here by her hair or worse.” Blearily he lifted his eyes to me. “Why didn’t

you tell me who she was.”

“Revenge.”

Xanders head snapped up. “Revenge? You were using me to exact some kind of revenge on her? And you didn’t think to tell me of your little plan?” His voice rose. “And what about tonight was that about revenge as well?”

“Yes.” I paced towards the window and I couldn’t help but look towards her house. Which was now dark. All the lights were off.

Did that mean she had gone to her bed? Was she dreaming of what had just happened? Was it my lips brushing her pussy she was dreaming of? Or did my face fill her nightmares instead.

“No.” I shook my head. “It’s complicated Xander and that’s why I have to go.”

“You didn’t fuck her Killian.” He said, like that made any difference.

“So?”

“If you really wanted revenge you would have. But you didn’t. You ate her out like she was the tastiest thing you had ever had.” Unblinking, he stared at me. “You claimed her pussy. What were your words?” He cocked his head to the side. “You’re going to eat that pussy like it belongs to you. Tonight wasn’t about revenge for you at all. It was about need. So tell me honestly. What do you want to do about the fact she’s now living next door. If you want her gone,” Xander’s voice wavered. “Then I’ll make it happen. I promised you when you saved me in prison that I would always have your back. And I stand my promises.”

I stared at him. “You would kill her if I wanted it?”

Pain flickered into his eyes but he nodded.
