Killian didn’t let me finish the sentence. “I know. But he still hurt you. And that’s a lot to get over. If you need space to heal then – raggedly be sucked breath. “I’ll respect that because more than anything your happiness is paramount to me, to us.” He added quickly.

“You still love me?”

Reaching out across the table Killian’s warm rough fingers curled around mine. “Of course I fucking love you Lottie.”

“And Xander?”

“He loves you too. He thinks you don’t love him, that’s why he’s not here.”

I pondered over that news for a second before sighing. “I’ve pushed him away. Do you think it’s too late-“

Killian threw back his head and laughed. “Lottie when it comes to you and the things we would do for you, or how long we would wait, there is no such thing as too late. We love you. We will give you all the time you need.” He smiled as he spoke.

“I don’t need any more time.” Straightening my shoulders, I finally met his eyes without flicking and squeezed his hand back. “I love you both, I need you both. Can we go and get him, so I can tell him?”

I had a horrible suspicion that if I didn’t tell Xander how I felt soon then it would be too late no matter what Killian said.

It was Killian’s turn to look away. “He will be back later.”

I didn’t like the look in Killian’s eyes at all. “Where is he? What aren’t you telling me?”

“It’s nothing for you to worry about.”

“Then tell me.”

“Raven and the Lost Reapers have gone to a meeting with Josh.”

My stomach did a somersault. “W-why?”

“Because a war between our clubs will be disastrous for all of us. And even though Josh isn’t technically the head of his little organisation. He still pulls the strings and funds it. And then there’s the little situation with Daisy.”

“I thought she was with Rancher?”

It was meant to be a joke to lighten the mood but it just made my stomach knot because I had an awful feeling that Xander might just kill losh in some

foolish attempt to make amends.
