The skinny man finally dropped the club. His twisted grin made Agnes’s stomach churn as he grabbed her and tried to force himself on her.
Suddenly, Agnes changed tactics. She stopped resisting and became flirtatious, acting eager and inviting.
The skinny man blinked, confused, then his gold teeth flashed in a grotesque smile.
Agnes pointed at a bottle of oil, lowering her voice as she purred that she wanted to give him a massage first.
She coaxed him not to rush, promising that everything he paid for was waiting for him and he should enjoy every second.
He believed her. Agnes‘ sudden shift made him relax, so he lay down and waited for his massage.
Women were rare in a place like this, and beautiful ones were almost unheard of.
He had already used up every other girl in the house. They all fought, screamed, and cried until they broke, which bored him.
This was the first time he had met someone seductive and willing. He wanted to enjoy every second.
Agnes massaged his back, kept him entertained, and even handed him a glass of water with a sweet smile.
Earlier, she had slipped the pills she took from the fat man into the water while the skinny man was distracted.
He never suspected a thing. He gulped down the water, and just as he moved in for more, dizziness hit him. His legs buckled and he collapsed on the bed.
Agnes’s mind raced. She stripped his clothes and switched outfits with him, searching his pockets for a phone, a key, and some cash.
The skinny man was scrawny and about her height. With her face covered, she could pass for him if no one looked too closely.
She yanked the hat down as far as it would go to hide her face.
She took a shaky breath, opened the door, and stepped out.
The fat man was lounging in the living room, watching TV. When he saw the “skinny man,” he waved.
Agnes kept her head down, waved back, and hurried out of the house.
She spotted a battered car parked by the porch. She jumped in, jammed the stolen key into the ignition, and tried to start it.
The engine sputtered and rattled, the noise nearly splitting her head.
She kept trying, sweat pouring down her face as panic clawed at her throat.
Inside the house, the fat man sensed something was wrong. He checked the bedroom and found the real skinny man unconscious on the bed.

Rage twisted his face. He grabbed a club and stormed outside, flinging the door open just as Agnes slammed her foot on the brake and twisted the key one last time.
The engine roared to life.
The fat man tried to chase her, but he was too out of shape. He gave up after a few steps, pulled out his phone, and started shouting into it, his words tumbling out in a frenzy.
Agnes stomped on the gas pedal. She had no idea where she was going, but she had to get as far away from that house as possible.
There was nothing around her but endless forest. Agnes drove for what felt like forever, watching the fuel gauge sink lower and lower. There were only trees, not even a hint of a road.
Eventually, she spotted a tiny cabin tucked among the trees. She steered toward it by instinct.
The car sputtered to a stop as it ran out of gas. Agnes grabbed the skinny man’s phone, but there was no signal.
She got out and headed for the cabin, desperate.
She crouched in the grass for a long moment, studying the place. It looked abandoned, not a soul around.
She circled to the back and peered in through a window. No one lived there, and it didn’t look like anyone had for a long time..
It seemed more like a ranger’s shelter or an emergency cabin than a real home.
Agnes checked the phone again and found a faint signal
She didn’t trust anyone around here. She didn’t even trust the police.
She dialed Rebecca’s number. On the other end, Rebecca broke down sobbing and insisted she had already contacted the embassy.
Rebecca said the embassy had been searching for Agnes, but they couldn’t find her. Now, as long as Agnes sent her location, they would come immediately.
Agnes sent her location, then, almost on instinct, called Raymond.
In moments of crisis, people always reached out to those who felt like protectors, even if they didn’t understand why.
