Chapter 206 Finding the Coral Snake Antivenom
Polly spoke up, her voice tense. “The doctor’s initial assessment is that both of them show symptoms of poisoning, but they’re still trying to identify the exact poison.”
Agnes went white. Poison?
What kind of poison could even exist inside the Tidewhisper Lily?

Polly continued, “Agnes, we’ve already called the police. They should have arrived at the shop by now to collect evidence.”
At that moment, a doctor stepped out from the emergency room.
Agnes hurried over. “Doctor, how are they?”
The doctor answered, “Both patients are showing signs of poisoning. We ran emergency blood tests and detected snake venom in their systems.”
Agnes froze in place. Snake venom?
Before she could fully process it, the doctor continued, delivering another blow.
He said, “We compared the venom samples and confirmed it’s from a coral snake.
“Our hospital does carry coral snake antivenom, and we’ve already administered it to both patients.
“Ms. Hum is responding well and showing clear improvement. As for Ms. Parker, we’ve managed to stabilize her for now, but her condition is still deteriorating.”
Agnes felt her mind go blank. Panic crept into her voice. “Doctor, why is this happening? She’s already received the antivenom. Why is she still getting worse?”
The doctor explained, “There are different types of coral snake venom. The one they were exposed to is extremely rare and comes from a species found only in Velmara.
“The antivenom we have here is most likely not designed for that regional species, so its effectiveness is limited.
“We’ve contacted other hospitals as well, and they are facing the same issue.”
Agnes pressed on, her voice shaking. “Doctor, then what should we do? Can’t you give her more doses?”
The doctor shook his head. “No. If the treatment doesn’t match, increasing or decreasing the

“At this point, everything depends on whether she can hang on. Miss, you should start preparing yourselves for the worst.”
Agnes lost control instantly.

Fear and anger surged together as she snapped, “Prepare for what? What kind of nonsense is that? You’re doctors, aren’t you? Then save her!
“Saving people is your job! Why are you saying this to me?”
Seeing her break down, Polly quickly pulled her back.
“Agnes, calm down! The doctor must be doing everything he can!”
Then she turned to the doctor and said apologetically, “I’m sorry, doctor. She’s overwhelmed. Is there really no other solution?”
The doctor, already used to reactions like this, paused before answering.
“It’s not completely hopeless.
“If you can go to Velmara and obtain the correct antivenom for this type of coral snake and administer it within 24 hours, the patient should be able to survive.”
The doctor frowned, looking troubled.
“The problem is that the rescue window is extremely short.
“Within that time, travel to Southeast Agloria, locate the antivenom, and come back here. By the time you come back, it may already be too late.”
Agnes blurted out, “I’ll go try!”
The moment the words left her mouth, she ran out of the hospital. She rushed back to the Newton Estate, grabbed her passport, and prepared to leave for Velmara.
Velmara was a place she had once feared more than anything, the place she had sworn never to
return to.
But Rita’s life was hanging by a thread. She couldn’t stand by and do nothing.
Rita still had a young daughter to raise!
Agnes didn’t bother packing anything. She grabbed her passport and bag and rushed out the door.

At the entrance, she collided with a tall figure.
Looking up, she saw Raymond. She was too anxious to deal with him. “Move.”
She tried to push past him.
Noticing the panic on her face, Raymond grabbed her wrist. “Where are you going in such a hurry?”
Agnes struggled to break free. “That’s none of your business! I’m going to save someone!”
Raymond said firmly, “I’m coming with you!”
Agnes was already losing patience. “Stop messing around. This is urgent. I can’t wait!”
But Raymond refused to let go. “What emergency? Tell me. I might be able to help.”
Agnes hesitated briefly, then bit her lip and said, “I’m going to Velmara to find antivenom.”
Raymond’s expression darkened instantly. His grip tightened, refusing to release her.
“Have you lost your mind? You nearly died there last time, and now you want to go back?”
