After some time, one of the inspectors walked toward them, holding a few small, delicate jars, and said, “We tested samples from these dyes and found that they are all low–quality dyes that do not meet market standards. We’ve also confirmed that they match the sample from this lady’s gown.”
Hearing this, both Nadia and Polly reacted.
Nadia exclaimed, “You’ve got to be kidding me! Your testing equipment must be faulty! It’s impossible! All our dyes are sourced from rare plants in Verdantis. They’re extremely expensive and are nothing like the normal dyes in the market. The entire process is monitored and goes through rigorous testing. How could it be a low–quality dye! Something must have gone wrong with your test!”
Polly added, “Exactly! We’re a well–known shop. Why would we use such low–quality dye to ruin our own reputation?”
Juliette spoke now in a loud, ringing voice, “Even now, with witnesses and evidence, you’re still denying it? This is unbelievable! Pretending to sell high–end gowns while passing off cheap junk… You really are a shady shop! I was right to report you! Mark my words, I’m not just going to hire a lawyer to sue you for damaging my health, I’m also going to call the press and expose you! Just you wait!”
After saying that, Juliette grabbed her bag and stormed out.
One of the inspectors addressed everyone there, “Following the results of our investigation, Tidewhisper Lily has been found to have serious quality issues. We’ve found the use of low- quality dyes, which violates Grandridge’s Product Quality Law. As per Grandridge’s Product Safety Guidelines, you are hereby ordered to close immediately until the matter is resolved, and all affected products will be confiscated.”
Nadia’s expression changed at once, and she raised her voice, “What? Closed?”
Everything was happening too quickly. All the staff from Tidewhisper Lily were stunned.
While Agnes was shocked, she was also confused. Something didn’t feel right to her.
In just two days, they’d had a case of a venomous snake in the store, and now their store had been ordered to close. It was unbelievable.
For the next few days, Agnes checked security footage and even went all the way to the dye supplier to investigate, but she couldn’t find anything
News that Tidewhisper Lily had been shut down due to quality issues spread quickly across Grandridge, and everyone was talking about it.

At the same time, another store specializing in classical embroidery clothing. Verdant Bloom, released their new design “Sunlit.” With the launch came a high–profile marketing campaign assuring everyone that they only used natural materials with no artificial dyes.
They guaranteed the health and safety of their customers and even invited everyone to visit their studio, where products could be tested on the spot at any time.
With that, Verdant Bloom took over Tidewhisper Lily as the new favourite brand in Grandridge’s business circle.
At the end of the month, Verdant Bloom would also be holding a new product launch.
That day, Agnes gathered all her staff from Tidewhisper Lily at a fancy restaurant.
Since the store had been shut down, everyone seemed very down.
As for Agnes, although she had spent several days investigating, she hadn’t made much progress.
She had also received a letter from Juliette’s lawyer and was facing a huge compensation claim.
The Product Safety Department had clearly asked them to stop operation, and that they could apply to reopen after passing a full inspection.
Agnes had already requested that they come to do another inspection. However, the inspectors seemed to be dragging their feet and had failed every one of their tests.
It seemed like they would never be able to reopen.
Her employees couldn’t just sit around waiting for nothing, so Agnes had called everyone here to talk everything out with them.
Agnes told them clearly that if they had other better opportunities, they could resign immediately, and she would support their decision.
She also promised that for those who resigned, she would provide a compensation fee that was ten times their salary to thank them for their years of hard work.
When it came to one’s career, it was only natural for everyone to strive for the best advancement opportunities.
Everyone sat there in silence, and some of them even quietly wiped their tears.
All these years, all of them had weathered through many difficulties and had a good relationship with each other.
