As the three of them held their wine glasses, wandering around and taking in the scene, spotting quite a few familiar faces, they didn’t bother to greet anyone.
Suddenly, Rita let out a sharp exclamation.
“Whoa! Isn’t that Polly?”
Agnes followed the direction Rita was pointing, and sure enough, it really was Polly.
Polly was dressed to impress today. The white diamond–studded cocktail dress she wore was clearly worth a fortune.
Several Verdant Bloom staff members stood beside her.
They all looked very familiar with each other.
Polly was even helping arrange Verdant Bloom’s new embroidered pieces.
Rita frowned, as if realizing something, and said,
“Well, well, looks like Polly had already lined up a new place. No wonder she left so fast.”
Agnes saw it too, but she only gave a faint smile and said, “People always want to climb higher. That’s just how it goes. There’s nothing wrong with her going after a better opportunity.”
Verdant Bloom’s new collection launch officially began with the host’s energetic opening speech.
One by one, the supermodels showcased Verdant Bloom’s embroidered gowns for this year.
The venue filled with applause.
A lot of people were already comparing Verdant Bloom to Tidewhisper Lily, which had just been shut down.
“Wow, the new always replaces the old!”
“Tidewhisper Lily, once such a big name, ended up fading out like this. Kind of a shame.”
“What’s there to feel bad about? If they hadn’t been exposed for using cheap dyes to make dirty
money, who would’ve known how shadly they were?”
“Dwas still Grandridge’s first classical–style embroidered boutique to ocally take off. Eused to

“But this Verdant Bloom, whether it’s the designs, the color combinations, or the embroidery itself, honestly, doesn’t it feel about 80% similar to Tidewhisper Lily?”
“Aren’t all classical–style lines kind of like that? Tidewhisper Lily used to act so arrogantly. You couldn’t even get a reservation without lining up forever.
“Now look at them, completely done for. Serves them right!”
Hearing the chatter around them, Agnes, Rita, and Nadia all felt their anger rising.
Nadia couldn’t hold it in and wanted to step forward to argue with them.
Agnes grabbed her and told her not to cause a scene.
At that moment, the host on stage introduced Verdant Bloom’s designer, George Lamb.
A thin man in a tight–fitting outfit stepped onto the stage, pressing his hands together before bowing deeply to the audience.
“Hello, everyone. I’m Verdant Bloom’s chief designer, George Lamb.
“It’s a great honor to invite all of you to Verdant Bloom’s spring haute couture launch event.
“Our original goal in opening Verdant Bloom was to create custom gowns that satisfy our clients while ensuring quality and safety.
“We use only natural plant–based dyes, with absolutely no artificial additives!
“From material selection, to stitching, to dyeing, to the finished garment, every step is strictly controlled, all so that every distinguished client who orders from Verdant Bloom can feel satisfied and at ease.”
George let out a sigh, then continued, “In this era where profit comes first, some of our peers, just because they have a bit of fame, are willing to cut costs by using cheap, low–quality dyes that put customers‘ health at risk. It’s truly despicable!
“So please rest assured, and also hold us accountable.
“We at Verdant Bloom will always put our customers‘ health and safety first. You’re all welcome to visit our studio anytime!”
After George finished speaking, the audience burst into applause. Anyone could tell he was taking a jab at Tidewhisper Lily’s dye scandal
