Love After Leaving: No Regret (Agnes and Raymond) novel Chapter 220

Chapter 220 Bloodlines and Betrayal

Calvin’s expression changed instantly. Furious, he lunged forward to grab it. “You went through my things? Give it back!”

Bianca kept dodging, refusing to let him take the photo, crying as she shouted, “For all these years, you’ve kept that woman’s photo hidden in a book. Did you really think I didn’t know?

“I never exposed you because I still wanted to hold this marriage together!

“That Sinclair girl looks exactly like the woman in that photo!”

Monica stayed hidden in her room, completely stunned by what she heard.

Could it be that Agnes really is Dad’s biological daughter?

Then that woman and I…are half-sisters?

Monica felt sick. She couldn’t believe she was related to someone like Agnes, thinking this must be some kind of sick joke.

She had thought her father’s words were just said in anger, that he wouldn’t really give Agnes 50% of Hale Enterprise’s shares.

Given enough time, everything unpleasant that had happened would fade away.

By then, they wouldn’t actually have to give Agnes anything, and Raymond’s anger would’ve died down too.

But now, in this situation, forget her father offering it willingly. Legally, Agnes would absolutely be entitled to a share of the Hales’ fortune.

Outside, Bianca was still shouting, “I’m telling you, not a single cent of the Hales’ assets will go to that bastard child!

“As long as I’m here, don’t even think about it. Monica and I have shares too!”

With that, Bianca dodged Calvin and, right in front of him, tore the photo in her hand to pieces.

Calvin completely lost it. He stepped forward and slapped Bianca hard, then shoved her aside.

His eyes were red as he trembled, crouching down to pick up the torn pieces of the photo. carefully gathering them in his hands.

He searched everywhere, afraid of missing even a single fragment.

Bianca lunged at him, grabbing his arm as she cried and screamed, “You actually hit me? Sob… After all these years, this is the first time you’ve ever laid a hand on me!”

Calvin’s eyes were bloodshot as he barked, “You brought this on yourself! No one can change the decision I’ve made! Otherwise…

“Otherwise, I’ll throw you out of the Hales! I gave you those shares you have, and I can take them back anytime!

“Do you still think you’re that rich heiress from back then? Your family went bankrupt a long time ago!

“Just enjoy your life as Mrs. Hale and stay in your place. If you overstep, don’t blame me for what happens next!”

Bianca’s eyes turned red, her voice trembling as it rose into a near scream, “What about Monica? She’s your daughter too! How can you be so heartless toward her?”

Calvin’s expression turned icy as he said coldly, “Haven’t I already given her shares? She grew up with us, living in luxury and comfort.

“But what about Agnes and her mother? Do you know how much they suffered out there?

“And all of that was because of you.

“Don’t think I don’t know what you did to Daisy back then.

“You took everything that was supposed to belong to her!”

With that, Calvin angrily shook off Bianca’s grip and flung her aside.

Bianca collapsed, crying hysterically as she stared at his retreating figure and shouted, “Was Daisy the only one who loved you? Can’t you see my love? I loved you too much back then!

“Even without me, you and Daisy would never have ended up together! Sob…

“Don’t go! Come back! Sob…”

But no matter how Bianca cried and called out, Calvin never looked back and disappeared out the door.

Bianca sat on the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.

Monica opened the door, walked over to Bianca, and held her gently.

She asked in a soft voice, “Mom, is what Dad said true? Is Agnes…really my sister?”

Bianca said, “Monica, I never wanted you to find out about this. Your father’s lost his mind.

“First, it was Daisy, and now, it’s her daughter. They’re trying to destroy us!

“Sob…”

Monica turned serious. “Mom, don’t worry. I won’t let the Hales’ assets fall into that woman’s hands!”

Bianca said, “What can you even do? Your father still controls everything in the Hales.

“I’m afraid that, because of Agnes, h-he’ll drive the two of us out for Agnes… Sob…”

Monica asked, “Mom, do you love Dad?”

Bianca looked at Monica, confused. “What?”

Monica said, “Dad doesn’t love you anymore, or maybe he never did. What’s there to hold on to with a man like that?

“Now he’s treating us like trash. We can’t just sit here and wait to be crushed!”

Looking at Monica’s twisted expression, Bianca felt a chill of fear. “Monica… what are you trying to say?”

A cold smile curved at the corner of Monica’s lips as she leaned in and whispered something into her mother’s ear.

Bianca’s face changed drastically after hearing it. “N-no…”

Monica said, “Mom, are you really gonna wait until we’re thrown out before you wake up?

“By then, it’ll be too late! Don’t regret it!

“Besides, we’re just taking back what’s rightfully ours. Isn’t that fair?”

Bianca stared blankly at Monica, no longer resisting.

Back at the Verdant Bloom launch event, the chaos was finally coming to an end as people began to leave.

Grandridge’s night felt like a chess match, one wave settling only for another to rise.

After seeing everyone home, Agnes returned to the Newton Estate.

From a distance, she saw a tall figure standing quietly at the estate entrance.

When he noticed her, the figure walked toward her.

Under the dim yellow streetlight, his sharp, handsome features gradually came into view.

“You’re back.”

Raymond’s voice was cool, carrying a hint of warmth.

Agnes lifted her eyes to meet his deep gaze. “Yeah… You came to see Grandma?”

Raymond said, “Yes, and to see you…to make sure you’re okay.”

Agnes smiled faintly. “Jasper must’ve told you everything, right? Are you here to congratulate me on winning?”

Raymond’s lips curved slightly. “Nothing gets past you.”

Agnes said, “Still, I have to thank you. Jasper helped me a lot this time.”

Raymond looked at her with a hint of amusement. “So, how are you planning to thank me?”

Agnes tilted her head. “What do you

want?”

Raymond leaned closer, gazing at her with quiet intensity, his voice soft. “You…”

Agnes closed her eyes and let out a breath, just about to snap, when his teasing voice sounded in her ear.

“You still owe me one from last time. Add this one, that makes two.”

A playful smile tugged at Raymond’s lips as he looked at her slightly annoyed face.

“How about this? I’ll cash in one first. Cook for me. As for the other, you can owe me for now. Sounds fair?”

Agnes sighed, stepping past him as she walked inside. “Sure. I’m tired. Good night.”

Raymond watched her retreating figure, a quiet sense of satisfaction rising in his chest.

It’s only been one night. She’s already out?

Agnes picked up the call, and Polly’s voice came through.

“Agnes, don’t hang up. I know I wronged you. I—”

Agnes asked coldly, “How did you get out?”

Polly said, “My boyfriend paid a large sum. I’m out on bail. I wanna see you, Agnes.

Agnes let out a soft laugh, her voice gentle. “What is it, Polly? Don’t tell me you wanna fight me, haha.”

Polly said, “No, no. I really want to apologize, Agnes. I lost my head for a moment and got blinded by money.

“T-there’s something else I need to tell you. It’s important. Let’s meet. Right now.”

Agnes said, “What can’t you say over the phone?”

Polly’s voice trembled slightly. “I-I’m worried my phone is being monitored!”
