Chapter 236 A Risk Worth Taking
Raymond frowned. “Still, I don’t want you facing danger alone all the time. I… I wanna face it with you.”
Raymond’s last few words came out very softly.
He had been worried sick today. He had been in the middle of negotiating a deal worth hundreds of billions.
The moment he received the alert from her emergency device, he lost it and rushed out, driving like a madman to the location.
Only after seeing her safe and unharmed did the tension in his body finally ease.
On the way back, Agnes received a call from Calvin’s hospital about his condition.
The doctor recommended the world’s top and most authoritative expert in treating cerebral infarction.
But that expert wasn’t in Grandridge, but in Wenmark.
And he was hard to book.
It was said he was afraid of any form of transportation, so he only practiced medicine in Wenmark.
But moving a critically ill Calvin to Wenmark wasn’t realistic either.
A long journey carried too much risk. If anything happened on the way, the consequences would be unthinkable.
But Calvin was hanging by a thread. Every doctor in Grandridge had already consulted on his case, and all of them said the chances were slim.
Now the only hope was to find a way to bring that expert from Wenmark to Grandridge.
If he could personally treat Calvin, there might still be a chance.
After hanging up, Agnes tightened her grip on her phone. She had to find a way to bring that expert here.
She started making calls nonstop, but forget speaking to the expert directly—even getting an appointment was scheduled a year out.
Agnes decided to go to Wenmark herself and personally invite the expert.
Even if there was only a one in a million chance, she had to try.
That very night, she booked a flight to Wenmark.
Early the next morning, Agnes said goodbye to Sabrina, telling her she had to be away for a few days.
She didn’t mention Wenmark. She didn’t want Sabrina worrying about her going somewhere unfamiliar alone.
Grandridge wasn’t that far from Wenmark. It was only a few hours by plane.
Because her phone was in airplane mode during the flight, Agnes didn’t see an official police announcement released in Grandridge that day.
“Grandridge Emergency Police Transport Vehicle Hijacked, Authorities Searching for Escapee, Public Asked for Leads.”
The attached photo showed Rebecca being escorted into a police car.
After landing, Agnes headed straight to the hotel she had already booked.
After dropping off her luggage, she immediately rushed to the hospital where the expert worked.
When the receptionist nurse heard Agnes’s name, she gasped.
Although she had never met Agnes, she was very familiar with the name.
Because before arriving, Agnes had made countless calls trying to book an appointment.
