Love After Leaving: No Regret
Chapter 238 Jealousy Unleashed
Josh said, “Ah, Mr. Ruell, so you two know each other. My apologies, my apologies.
“Oh, right, Ms. Sinclair, you said your dad needs treatment in Grandridge. No problem, I’ll take care of
“It’s just that… I’m personally afraid of flying, so I…”
The moment Agnes saw that Josh had agreed, she quickly stepped in.
“I’ll arrange the highest-class business rail for you. You don’t have to worry. The entire journey will be staffed with medical personnel.
“I guarantee you won’t feel any discomfort at all”
Josh nodded. “Good, good. Thank you, Ms. Sinclair. And also, about my book…
Agnes replied, “You can rest assured. I’ll handle everything for you.”
Josh excitedly grabbed Agnes’s hand, thanking her repeatedly.
But when his eyes accidentally caught Neal’s slightly displeased expression, he immediately let go in a panic.
He quickly said goodbye to Neal, then left with his group, disappearing from sight.
The hallway fell silent, leaving only Neal and Agnes.
Even Neal’s assistant had retreated far into the distance.
Neal said gently, “Agnes, why didn’t you tell me you were coming to Wenmark?
“I could’ve picked you up and arranged everything for you.”
Agnes smiled. “Thanks, but there’s no need to trouble yourself. Your new company must be keeping you busy, right?”
Neal said, “It’s fine. No matter how busy I am, I’ll always have time for you. How long are you staying?” Agnes replied, “My original plan was to stay until Dr. Marrow agreed to come back to Grandridge with me. “But it seems things went more smoothly than I expected, so I’m planning to head back tomorrow.”
A flicker of disappointment passed through Neal’s eyes. He wanted her to stay a few more days, but didn’t know how to say it.
“Let’s have a meal together. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you. We should catch up.”
“Sure. Take me to the best restaurant you know here. Your recommendations are always amazing.”
Deep down, Neal couldn’t stop the surge of happiness. She had approved of him.
And reserved the entire place, though he didn’t tell her.
He recommended many dishes, all of them her favorites.
Every time he suggested one, Agnes nodded.
By the end, she realized she had unknowingly ordered a lot.
“How have you been lately?”
Neal’s cool eyes carried layers of emotion, fixed on her face without moving.
Agnes gave a faint smile. “I ran into a bit of trouble, but it’s fine. What about you?”
Neal nodded. “Same as always, I guess. Anyway, do you need my help?”
Agnes shook her head. “No, no, you’ve already helped me a lot today.
