Chapter 242 Hidden Symptoms
“Ms. Sinclair, that’s very thoughtful of you, but the specialists I arranged for your dad are already some of the most renowned stroke experts in Grandridge.
“Bringing someone in out of nowhere… Does that mean you think I didn’t handle this well?”
Bianca pressed a hand to her chest, her eyes reddening slightly.
“It’s alright, Ms. Sinclair. If you have something to say, just say it. I won’t mind.”
Agnes said, “Of course not, Mrs. Hale. You’re overthinking it. I only followed the recommendation of the doctors here.
“They said Dr. Marrow from Wenmark is highly skilled, so I thought he could give my—uh, Mr. Hale better treatment.”
A flicker of anger surged through Bianca.
She had clearly instructed all the doctors here that Calvin’s case was to be handled by Grandridge’s own experts. So how did someone still recommend this Wenmark doctor to Agnes?
But she quickly forced an apologetic expression onto her face and said, “Oh, I see. I’m sorry, Ms. Sinclair. I misunderstood you.
“Your father is critically ill, and I’ve been feeling down lately, so I’ve been a bit sensitive. I hope you take it to heart…”
Agnes shook her head. “It’s fine. I won’t.”
Josh conducted a full examination on Calvin and started treating him.
He completely overturned all the treatment plans previously given by Grandridge’s experts and created a new one from scratch.
Sure enough, Calvin’s condition began to improve rapidly.
Agnes finally let out a breath of relief. Although she didn’t share much of a bond with Calvin, he was still her biological father.
Blood ties couldn’t be denied, and seeing him in critical condition had left her deeply anxious.
Bianca kept trying to ask Josh about Calvin’s condition, but Josh remained cautious and only gave standard, surface-level answers.
That was because Agnes had already told him to report everything directly to her alone.
He didn’t ask why. In families like theirs, there were always too many hidden schemes and power struggles.
As a doctor, he only needed to do his job.
One day, Josh found Agnes and said, “Ms. Sinclair, your dad’s condition has improved significantly. As long as we follow my treatment plan, he should recover soon.”

Agnes nodded. “Thank you so much, Dr. Marrow. You truly live up to your reputation as a world-class specialist.
“By the way, I’ve already contacted Mr. Long from the medical publishing house. He’ll be reaching out to you about your book.”
Josh was overjoyed. “That’s wonderful! I should be the one thanking you, Ms. Sinclair. You’ve really helped me out!”
