Chapter 270 Work Together
“My life’s trash anyway. If you dare send me back to that mountain dump, I’d rather die!
“But…”
Rebecca pressed the knife harder against Monica’s neck, and a thin line of blood began to seep from her pale skin.
Rebecca’s face darkened, her voice cold as ice.
“But before I die, I swear… I swear I’ll take you with me, Monica! Hahaha!”
Monica squeezed her eyes shut in pain and kept begging.
“I won’t, I won’t! I won’t make things hard for you again. We can work together…”
Seeing Monica reduced to this desperate, pathetic state, Rebecca slowly loosened her grip on the knife.
Monica clutched her bleeding neck in terror and staggered backward.
This lunatic is even more unhinged than Agnes.
“Eat your breakfast, Ms. Hale. It won’t taste good once it’s cold.”
Rebecca went right back to eating, completely at ease.
As she ate, she casually motioned for Monica to sit down and join her.
Monica, shaken, obediently returned to her seat and ate with her nerves stretched tight.
After a long while, Rebecca finished her meal, wiped her mouth gracefully, and made no move to leave.
Instead, she quietly watched Monica, her gaze sending chills down her spine.
Monica said, “Why are you staring at me? You’re done eating. Why aren’t you leaving?”
Rebecca let out a soft laugh. “Relax, Ms. Hale. I just want to study how rich girls like you handle yourselves at the table and see how you usually eat.”
Monica felt a wave of nausea. This Rebecca is insane, twisted in a way that’s impossible to read.
After watching for a while, Rebecca spoke slowly.
“Since we’re talking about working together, I need you to stay sharp at all times and think things through clearly.
“Our common enemy is Agnes. You and I never had much to do with each other in the first place, and there’s no real grudge between us.”
Monica said, “I understand. For now, we’ll wait for Duncan to come back and see if we can come up with a plan.”
Rebecca said, “No need to wait for him. I already have a plan, and I need your help.
“We’ll take Agnes down together, or better yet, send that bitch straight to hell.
“End it once and for all and cut out this cancer.”
Monica’s pupils widened instantly. She had never killed anyone before.
But when she thought about how Agnes had coldly taken everything from her, she still forced herself to ask, “What’s the plan?”
Rebecca said, “I’ll tell you when the time comes. You just follow my lead and do exactly as I say.”
Monica asked, “What about Duncan? Did you come up with this plan with him?”
