Agnes sat up right away and started scrolling through her phone.
But after only a few minutes, all the trending posts suddenly disappeared.
She thought her phone was glitching, then a call from an unknown number came in.
"Hi, Agnes."
That familiar, disgusting voice made her face go cold. "Rebecca, you've got a death wish."
Loud laughter came from the other end.
"Oh, haha, hearing you say that makes me so happy. You must be furious, right? Hahaha..."
Agnes snapped, "You framed me for Monica's death. Do you think you can get away with it?"
Rebecca laughed back. "Agnes, stop trying to trick me. Are you recording this call to frame me? Haha. I have nothing to do with Ms. Hale's death. You're the murderer."
She kept laughing. "Agnes, you're even more famous now than before. Your Tidewhisper Lily is about to blow up again. You should thank me. Hahaha."
Agnes let out a cold laugh. "You're as sneaky as ever. Always using dirty tricks. Be careful—it'll come back to bite you."
Rebecca didn't care. "Agnes, you still worry about me, just like always. Fine, I'm sneaky and shameless. Just be careful when you go out from now on."
Agnes's voice turned icy. "Rebecca, this time, no matter what it takes, I'll find you—and I'll deal with you myself."
Rebecca mocked her, "Oh, I'm so scared! Hahaha. Do you think I'm still the old Rebecca? The one you could control and crush whenever you wanted? The one you ruined completely? Let me tell you—if I'm still alive, I'll do whatever it takes to take your life!"
Agnes laughed nonstop. "Who do you think you are? We've been fighting for so long. If I hadn't shown mercy, you'd be dead already. Don't get so arrogant. You'll pay for everything you've done."
On the other end, Rebecca's body trembled, but she forced herself to sound calm. "Whatever. You can't kill me anyway. But you'll have to live with the label of 'murderer' for the rest of your life. How sad. Haha. Did you like the little funeral service I sent you yesterday? Hahaha. That was just the beginning. Enjoy what's coming next..."
Then she hung up.
Agnes checked the number. As expected, it was a virtual number—no way to trace it.
That crazy woman was now openly provoking her.
Just as Agnes was thinking, she got a message from Jasper. It was information about Monica's biological parents.
She had thought the troublemakers from yesterday were just actors hired by Rebecca.
But Jasper's report showed they were actually Monica's real parents.
