Chapter 31 She Has Her Own Life

Agnes asked, “So, you brought me here to eat, and even booked the whole restaurant… why?”

Raymond answered, “Can’t I take you out to eat? Didn’t you say I never take you out or bring you to events? From today on, I’ll pay more attention.”

Before, Agnes would have been so touched by what Raymond did that she might have cried happy tears.

“Why bring up Hillary?” Raymond asked.

He looked at Agnes with confusion. Just now, she had been so cold, but now she seemed like a different

person.

Agnes said, “You usually take her everywhere you go. If you suddenly don’t bring her, won’t she be upset?”

Raymond replied, “She has her own life. I can’t always bring her with me. I thought about it a lot last night. There were many things I didn’t handle well before. I ignored you. I’ll pay more attention from now on.”

Agnes said, “But Hillary… she still seems to like you. She even came back from overseas just for you. If you say that, she’ll be hurt.”

Raymond responded, “Her coming back was her own choice. It has nothing to do with anyone else.”

Agnes continued, “Raymond… I don’t want to come between you two. I know Hillary still loves you. I’m willing to let you be together.

“Let’s get a divorce.”

Raymond said angrily, “Agnes, listen carefully! I don’t agree to a divorce. Even without you, Hillary and I would never be together.”

Agnes tried hard to hold back the smile curving on her lips. She was really afraid she might laugh out loud.

The next second, that person walked out of the stairs.

Then she stood up and said, “Sorry, Hillary, take your time. I’m going to the restroom.”
