Love After Leaving: No Regret (Agnes and Raymond) novel Chapter 314

Agnes knew clearly that in this lifetime, reconciliation between her and Rebecca was impossible.

But deep in her heart, there was still a fragment of the beauty they once shared.

The corners of her eyes reddened slightly as she asked, "What did the letter say?"

"I'll send it to you in a bit."

He fell silent for a few seconds.

Then he said in a hoarse voice, "Agnes, I'm sorry. I didn't protect you well. You got hurt. I feel so useless.

"I've always been by your side, yet I couldn't do anything."

Agnes froze for a moment at his sudden apology and said, "What are you talking about, Raymond? Why are you apologizing? Why are you saying this?"

"It's nothing. It's late. Get some rest."

"Raymond, explain yourself clearly. Have you been avoiding me these past few days?"

Raymond paused for a moment. "No."

"Fine. Where are you? I'll come find you. Right now."

Raymond's voice turned slightly flustered. "I-I'm not in Grandridge. Agnes, actually... I'm in Montara."

"Montara? Where? I'll come find you."

"Don't be ridiculous. I'm here for business. It's something important for the family. Wait until I get back, then I'll see you."

Agnes replied, "Is that so? I won't take much of your time. Just a few minutes."

Seeing that he couldn't persuade her, Raymond's tone suddenly turned cold.

"What are you coming for? Agnes! What are we to each other? Aren't we just friends? Do you have no sense of boundaries?"

Agnes fell silent. She was stunned. This was the first time Raymond had spoken to her so harshly.

After a brief pause, she said softly, "You're right. I overstepped. I'm sorry. As long as you're okay, that's enough. I won't bother you."

The call ended abruptly.

On the other end, Raymond clenched his phone tightly, struggling to hold himself together.

Suddenly, with a loud crash, the phone shattered against the wall.

The next day, Agnes received a photo from Raymond. It was a handwritten letter.

She recognized the handwriting immediately. It was Rebecca's.

She slowly swiped open the image and read carefully.

"Agnes, it's me, Rebecca.

"By the time you read this, I'm probably no longer in this world.

"I know that no matter what I say now, you won't believe me anymore.

"I've wronged you. I don't even dare to face you one last time.

"I betrayed your trust, and I wasted everything you ever gave me.

"You were right. I'm greedy, selfish, jealous, and flawed to the core.
