Love beyond the mask (Whitney) novel Chapter 1210

“What do you mean?” Whitney ground her teeth, her face expressionless as she repeated, “Four in the morning…”

Suddenly, her head snapped up, eyes glued to the elevator panel’s blinking numbers. A nervous sweat prickled across her forehead. Every second felt like an eternity—she wanted nothing more than to storm Shane’s apartment right now. God only knew what Sienna, that conniving witch, was up to by now.

And Emma had even tipped off the press? Before sunrise, were they really planning to stage some kind of “caught in the act” scandal, broadcasting Shane’s downfall to the whole world?

If that happened, Shane would never be able to clear his name. Once the story was out, it’d be over.

Wiping the sweat from her brow, Whitney shot out of the elevator the second the doors chimed open.

Sandy almost tripped as Whitney hauled her along.

“Whitney, what is going on with you?”

Whitney barely glanced at the three-door hallway, her glare sharp as a dagger. “Which one’s his apartment?!”

Sandy, flustered by her intensity, pointed at the door directly across from them. “That one. But, Whit, what’s happening?”

“What’s happening? We’re catching a cheater, what else!” Whitney shouted, already running for the door. She tossed her phone to Sandy. “Call Felix—find out where he is!”

The phone was already ringing before Sandy even pressed it to her ear. Felix picked up right away, thinking it was Whitney. “Ms. Valentine, the security team is almost there. Please stay calm!”

“Whit, the guards are here,” Sandy relayed, trying to restrain her sister, who looked like she was about to explode.

But it was no use. Whitney’s long legs—clad in combat boots—kicked hard at the door.

Sienna spun on Whitney, her voice shrill. “Whitney, who said you could barge into someone’s home? You want me to call the cops on you? Get out, both of you, before I lose my patience! This is my fiancé’s property, and the building manager will be up here any second!”

Whitney shot her a glare sharper than a blade and started up the stairs, yelling, “Shane? Are you alive in there, or what? Say something!”

“Don’t you dare come up here, Whitney! Just because you’re riding high doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want. Shane and I are having a perfectly lovely night, and you, of all people, have no right to interfere. Get out!”

Losing her cool, Sienna grabbed a flower vase and hurled it down the stairs at Whitney, who ducked just in time.

She’d almost gotten Shane’s shirt off—almost sealed the deal. And now, damn Whitney just had to crash the party!

“Sienna, stop it!” Sandy’s face went ice cold. Whatever insanity tonight brought, right or wrong, she’d never stand by and let anyone hurt Whitney.
