A small group of house staff waited nearby, clutching the family’s luggage.

Shane rushed in with Tina in tow. When he saw the whole production—suitcases, staff, the works—he frowned.

He pointed at the Lippert family’s entourage and turned to Whitney. “Seriously? Tell them to scram. With this many people hovering, do you think Sandy’s even going to get a chance to help out when she gets here?”

Whitney was a little exasperated, but looking around, she had to admit—this was a bit much.

Ludwik was being ridiculous, parading his CEO status just to leave the hospital?

Sammy, ever perceptive, grinned and waved. “They’re all here because Great-Grandma said so. Dad’s not making a scene—Great-Grandma, Grandpa, and Grandma are all super excited to finally meet our little sister! Great-Grandma’s already called Danny, like, five times asking when we’ll be home.”

Whitney smiled and told the staff, “There’s not much luggage—just toss it in the car with us. You all head back. My cousin’s helping out today.”
