Belinda curled her lips, equally determined not to back down, "Fine. If that’s the case, I demand that the Empire Sports Federation announce this immediately and that Miss Xiaxia accept testing right on the field. Do you dare?"
"There’s nothing shady about my actions, why wouldn’t I dare?" Xiaxia smiled unshakably.
"Good." Belinda nodded openly, then turned to the administrators of the Empire Sports Federation. "Please make the announcement."
The chairman of the Empire Sports Federation’s eyes tightened, glaring angrily at Belinda, but ultimately, he had to agree, "Our athletes are aboveboard. If the inspection finds nothing, Miss Belinda must publicly apologize to Miss Xiaxia and the entire Empire on the field."
"Since it was I who questioned it, obviously, I will apologize if I’m wrong," Belinda curled her lips, "But if it turns out that Miss Xiaxia has taken stimulants or any other substances that could induce excitement, I demand her championship be revoked and that she be banned for life."
The chairman of the Empire Sports Federation looked at Xiaxia, who nodded fearlessly.
He turned and murmured some instructions to someone beside him, who then walked away.
Watching Xiaxia’s fearless demeanor, Belinda frowned. Could she have been wrong?
But she could tell during the competition; Xiaxia was noticeably more relaxed, almost unnervingly so.
Besides stimulants, she couldn’t think of anything that could cause such a state.
However, Belinda wasn’t afraid; as a competitor representing her country, she naturally had the right to question the results and processes of the competition and express her doubts.
Even if she was mistaken, such an apology would not be a great harm; moreover, she was actimg in her national interest. It wasn’t possible for her to have suspicions and not express them.
This was also something she had discussed with her coach, so public apologies held no fear for her.
