After Di Jinxuan finished her bath feeling refreshed, she emerged from the bathroom only to realize he was still in the room.
Seeing her come out, he lifted his gaze toward her.
"Why haven’t you left yet?" Di Jinxuan asked, pouring herself a glass of water in confusion.
Nangong Jin’s eyes instantly filled with a bitterness and grievance as he couldn’t help but say, "Wife, you’re making it seem like I’m some sort of john who hasn’t paid."
"Pff..." Di Jinxuan, who was in the middle of drinking water, accidentally spat it out and nearly choked.
"What kind of logic is that?" Di Jinxuan glanced at him sideways.
"It’s just the way it is." Nangong Jin stood up and walked over, "Then what do you think our relationship is right now?"
"What do you think?" Di Jinxuan counter-asked.
"Boyfriend and girlfriend!" Nangong Jin declared confidently, then hurriedly added, "The kind that talks marriage."
"Really?" He said, looking at her expectantly, almost pitifully.
Nangong Jin was handsome; when he made such a face, it was terribly endearing.
Di Jinxuan blinked, sipped at her water, and pondered for a moment, "Probably a bit shallower than that."
"Ah?" Nangong Jin’s eyes widened, "Then what is this relationship?"
"Probationary period," Di Jinxuan lifted the corner of her mouth, "It’s too early to say boyfriend and girlfriend; this is the period for checking whether you qualify to be my boyfriend."
"We’re sharing a bed even during the probationary period," Nangong Jin complained, obviously not satisfied with the answer.
"That’s true," Di Jinxuan nodded, "This time was an exception, won’t happen again."
Nangong Jin: "..."
"Hey, wife, I was actually just joking, don’t take it seriously."
"Wife, then you have this thing where you sleep with me and then don’t take responsibility."
"Words said are like water spilled, get it?"
"Don’t get it, at worst it’s just a wet floor, just mop it dry."
