"Hahaha." The owner known as Bearded Uncle laughed heartily and nodded in joy, "Xuanxuan’s words are always so sweet. I’m also honored that you think highly of my humble place. Would you like to sit outside or in a private room?"
"Let’s get a private room," Di Jinxuan answered.
"Sure thing." The owner replied with enthusiasm and wiggled his finger, "Old rules, your favorite room is always reserved for you. Come with me."
The owner led the three to the private room.
After showing them to the room, the owner couldn’t help but ask curiously and gossipingly, "Xuanxuan, is this your boyfriend?"
The owner’s gaze towards Nangong Jin was visibly filled with amazement and disbelief. How could there be such a gorgeous man?
Nangong Jin raised his eyebrows and turned his gaze towards Di Jinxuan, very eager to hear her response.
Di Jinxuan’s smile was as bright as flowers, but she didn’t answer directly, instead, she said, "What do you think, Bearded Uncle?"
"It must be!" Bearded Uncle laughed aloud again, "Wait a moment, Uncle will add some extra dishes for you today."
"Sounds great." Di Jinxuan nodded.
The owner went off to get busy, and the three then sat down.
Nangong Jin looked around and noticed that although it was a streetside stall, the small restaurant had its own style. It was retro-themed, as if stepping back into the sixties or seventies.
Nangong Jin couldn’t help but smile. This decor truly screams budget-saving!
The seats were actually those long, narrow bench stools. The tables also looked quite old, along with chopstick holders, enamel mugs, and large earthen bowls, all adding to a unique charm.
Too bad he didn’t quite enjoy it, as overall, it seemed rather dilapidated.
"Do you like this kind of place?" Nangong Jin couldn’t help asking.
So Nangong Jin’s expression darkened, and he looked at Feng Rao with a cold face, his voice carrying a chill, "From now on, you should know better than to need me to teach you such things. Listen well, Di Jinxuan is now your mistress. You must not neglect her in the slightest, otherwise, I will not be lenient next time."
"Yes." Feng Rao’s hand shook slightly while holding a bowl. Nangong Jin’s threat of not being lenient was definitely no joke.
Di Jinxuan didn’t say anything, for she was not some foolishly kind soul. When a man is disciplining his underlings to establish authority, she wouldn’t be dumb enough to go on about how he shouldn’t be so stern.
She merely sat there with a dignified posture, truly resembling the lady of the house.
Feng Rao finished setting the table and eventually said, "Master, I’ll just serve from the side and not eat."
"That’s not necessary," Di Jinxuan looked at Feng Rao, "Since you’re here, sit down and eat with us."
Feng Rao was her guest, and not allowing her to eat was out of the question. She couldn’t possibly do something like that.
Inviting Feng Rao was right, and sharing a table with her was not a problem either. The issue was that Feng Rao hadn’t taken the initiative to set the chopsticks earlier, which greatly displeased Nangong Jin.
