But he really didn’t look like he was pretending at all. When he came to pick her up the last couple of days, he was so happy while waiting for her, smiling like he’d been injected with chicken blood, so why does he suddenly look wilted today?
Did something happen?
Di Jinxuan stood among the crowd, not rushing forward, her eyes slowly focusing on his flower-like face.
As she stared, Di Jinxuan couldn’t help but click her tongue, damn, this guy is seriously damn handsome!
She watched him finish a cigarette and light up another one. His stunning face seemed even more melancholic, continuously frowning, looking particularly upset. He kept checking his wristwatch and peered into the car, as if seeing if she had come out yet.
What exactly was he upset about?
Di Jinxuan frowned, damn, this guy seldom has this melancholic look!
Di Jinxuan stood there for a while longer, noticing that he remained in a blue mood.
Despite feeling a bit uneasy and guessing at the possibilities, Di Jinxuan finally tidied her hair and stepped forward.
"Wifey..." Upon seeing Di Jinxuan, Nangong Jin finally tossed away his cigarette, opened the car door, and got out.
Di Jinxuan glanced at him askance as he reached out and draped an arm over her shoulder casually, "Why are you a bit late today?"
"Got held up a little." Di Jinxuan glanced sideways at him as Nangong Jin opened the car door for her. After she was seated, he returned to the driver’s seat.
Di Jinxuan slightly frowned; even though the sunroof was open, the smell of smoke in the car was quite apparent.
"Did you have a busy day at school today?" Nangong Jin asked while closing the sunroof and starting the car.
"Yeah, it went pretty well." Di Jinxuan nodded her head and turned her eyes to look at Nangong Jin.
"Yeah?" Nangong Jin raised his eyebrows and turned his gaze, catching her looking at him.
Nangong Jin smirked and leaned over to plant a kiss on her forehead, "Wifey, sit tight, let’s go home."
On the way home, as usual, Nangong Jin left one hand free to hold hers, but he still wore that melancholic expression.
