When Nangong Ran awoke again, what she saw was a field of white. She squinted her eyes slightly, wondering where she was.
There was a cold sting on the back of her hand. Nangong Ran turned to look and saw that she was hooked up to an IV?
As her gaze shifted, she noticed a fluffy head right next to her hand, and this person’s hand was holding hers.
"Gu Xiaoqi?" Nangong Ran spoke, her voice a bit hoarse.
Gu Qibao made a sound of acknowledgment, then abruptly lifted her head, her face full of surprised joy. "Nangong Ran, you’re awake!"
"Mm." Nangong Ran responded, trying hard to sit up. "Where is this place?"
"A hospital." Gu Qibao quickly got up to tuck her in. "Don’t move around, do you realize you fainted! The doctor said you were malnourished! I mean, you are still the fourth miss of the Nangong Family, how could you be malnourished? Did you not eat properly during those days of shooting in the mountains?"
"Where is Second Brother?" Nangong Ran ignored Gu Qibao’s chatter and directly asked about Di Mingchen’s situation, as her last memory was hearing gunshots in the room.
"Dead." Gu Qibao rolled her eyes at her. "Why are you worried about him when you’ve already broken up?"
Dead?
Nangong Ran’s eyes widened suddenly, feeling as if she were struck by lightning, and without thinking, she tried to get up.
"What are you doing!" Gu Qibao hurriedly pressed her down. "Are you dizzy? Didn’t you see you’re on IV?"
"I want to see Second Brother. Where is Second Brother?" Nangong Ran’s eyes reddened instantly, anxiously grabbing Gu Qibao’s hand with some force, making Gu Qibao wince from pain.
Gu Qibao raised an eyebrow. "Nangong Ran, you care about Second Brother so much, yet you say you don’t like him and want to break up?"
