He walked slowly toward the bed and sat down, brushing away the tears in her eyes. He gazed at her seriously, remaining quiet for a while before asking hoarsely, "Did your husband upset you that much?"
This question made Gu Qibao even more sad. Wiping her tears away, she looked at Di Mingjue with bloodshot eyes, choking back sobs, and nodded honestly and earnestly, answering, "Yes."
Di Mingjue felt a pang in his chest, but he still patiently asked her, "Why?"
"Because you like Di Xiaxia." Gu Qibao pouted, tears streaming down her face, looking pitifully at him.
Good grief, Di Mingjue wanted to punch someone right then and there. When in the world did he ever like Di Xiaxia?!
"Baby..." Di Mingjue looked distressed and helpless, "I swear, I really don’t like her!"
"I don’t believe you!" Gu Qibao stared at him wide-eyed, accusing him, "If you don’t like her, why are you so kind to her? If she asks you to go to the backyard, you go. If she wants to hug you, you let her. Don’t you realize you are a married man? You even let other women hug you!"
"Aren’t you also letting someone else hug you?" Di Mingjue got angry when this was brought up, wishing he could cut off Jin Dafu’s hands.
"Yeah." Gu Qibao responded, "You’re as angry as I was when someone else hugged you!"
Di Mingjue was stunned, feeling slightly guilty when he thought about it that way.
After a while of silence he said, "Alright then, we’re even."
"I don’t want to be even with you!" Gu Qibao turned her head, defiantly wiping her tears away, "Di Mingjue, do you know how much I hate you!"
"Really?" Di Mingjue’s face darkened, he asked in a deep voice.
