Nangong Yue parked the car in the parking lot, then turned to look at Gu Mian, "We’re here, let’s get out."
Are we there?
Gu Mian squinted slightly, still a bit in a daze, Nangong Yue had already gotten out of the car and walked around to help her open the door.
Gu Mian had no choice but to get out and looked up, the large characters for "Marriage Registration Office" at the Civil Affairs Bureau were strikingly bold and red.
"Let’s go." Nangong Yue extended his hand to her, but she hesitated to take it, merely nodding, "Let’s go."
Nangong Yue was not awkward at all, calmly withdrawing his hand, not minding.
There weren’t many people at the Civil Affairs Bureau, and upon entering, a staff member asked the two, "Are you here to apply for a marriage certificate?"
"Yes," Nangong Yue nodded.
"Then please come this way," the staff led them to queue at the registration counter.
Standing next to Nangong Yue, Gu Mian felt a bit embarrassed, as she noticed the couples registering were all lovingly intertwined with smiles of happiness on their faces. Only the two of them looked serious and stern, standing a little apart, not at all like a couple.
In fact, it seemed more like they were here to handle divorce rather than marriage procedures. Gu Mian daydreamed and couldn’t help but laugh to herself.
"What are you laughing at?" Nangong Yue asked.
"Oh, nothing," Gu Mian snapped back to reality.
"Let’s go, the queue is ready," Nangong Yue glanced at her.
"Huh, that’s it? We’re done?" Gu Mian widened her eyes.
"We’ve only lined up." Nangong Yue couldn’t help but smile wryly, "We still have to wait until our number is called to enter the registration room."
"Oh, oh," Gu Mian nodded, thinking to herself that even though she’s not the sharpest, she knows marriage involves photos!
