The high school they attended had quite a long history, so eventually the school was relocated, and the old site was turned into a library.
"Isn’t it a library now?" Gu Mian asked again.
"Yes, I bought the place and turned it into a library," Nangong Yue replied.
Gu Mian’s eyes widened, wow, Professor Nangong really is... a tycoon!
Gu Mian covered her face, "Say no more, rich man, let’s be friends!"
"I don’t want to be just friends with you." Nangong Yue’s lips curled into a smile, as he used one hand to hold hers, brought it to his lips, kissed it, and said, "I only want to be your husband."
This title made Gu Mian blush, but she didn’t pull her hand away from Nangong Yue.
The library, it’s said, is open to the school for free and houses many treasured books, some of which are rare editions that are no longer in print. Professor Nangong truly dedicates himself to cultural endeavors!
As for the books, Gu Mian actually knew something about them too.
For example, books published by the Education Bureau and the Culture Bureau ten years ago might stop being printed ten years later, meaning they are out of print.
Some of the stories from back then are nearly impossible to read again.
So that’s the role of a library, to preserve a part of ’history’.
Soon they arrived at the library, and Nangong Yue led Gu Mian in, saying as they walked, "The front part here is the library, while the field at the back I converted into a reading room, but there’s one place I didn’t change."
"Where?" Gu Mian blinked in confusion.
"The confession tree." Nangong Yue looked at her, "I’ll take you there now, and you can still find my confession for you."
Gu Mian’s eyes widened.
The confession tree!
Back then, it was a tree on the school field, and it’s said that people who had crushes but didn’t dare confess would bury their secrets beneath the confession tree on confession day.
